Location: This hotel is located in Lufkin, on Highway 59, just south of Loop 287. Guests can enjoy a hike through the pine woods of the Angelina National Forest or the Davey Crockett National Forest, both only about 10 to 15 minutes from the hotel. Visitors may enjoy boating, swimming, fishing and other watersports on the enormous Lake Sam Rayburn and the hotel is close to the Ellen Trout Zoo and Park, the Museum of East Texas and the Texas Forestry Museum. It is situated 2 hours north of Houston, 2 hours southwest of Shreveport, Louisiana and 3 hours southeast of Dallas.

“Good place to stay, but no restaurants close by or within walking distance”
Very nice Hampton Inn as expected for this brand. Clean, comfortable, very nice staff at front desk. Only drawback was it was necessary to drive at least a mile to any nearby restaurants. Located on busy highway US 59. Had a room on the backside of the hotel and it was very quiet.

“Peaceful and quiet stay”
Stayed one night while passage making. Check in was easy, quick and helpful. Room was spotless, bed was comfy, a/c was quiet and efficient. “A lot of road noise, musty smell in room”
We stayed 4 nights in June/July 2025 for a family funeral. I chose our room online and I chose terrible. Make sure you choose a room that is as far away from the pool area as possible; it is closest to the highway and you will constantly hear road noise. “Won't be back”
There was mold on the ceiling in the shower. We stayed one night and early the next morning housekeeping knocked on the door two different times and was opening the door with their key to come clean!! Pay attention we were checking out, there is no reason to come clean until we leave.
