7-8 couples come down the first week of March, for many years. We always stay at this hotel. ( name has changed a few years ago) We love the proximity to the beach and Clayton’s. This year was a bit disappointing, 1. LONG line to check in (to the door) . Never before happened! 2. We immediately noticed an ugly brown floor replaced the gorgeous first floor tile floor that had adorable turtles, dolphins, etc. … so beachy! 3. Rooms not ready to check in plus long lines, we went to dinner and returned to find our beds not made at 7:00 pm. !!! However there was an amazing young man working hard to finish the room next to us and ours. 4. We ALWAYS look forward to the DELICIOUS breakfast, sadly many items were not there this year ( English muffins, bagels) Long line for the omelette bar. Just seems like not as many staff to keep things flowing consistently!! Probably need a new manager!!!!!!!! Hopefully we will be back next year and find our great hotel again!!

“February stay at Sand Rose Resort”

This is our 6th year staying at Sand Rose. Location is great right on the beach. Atmosphere is good, rooms are clean, view is excellent. This is our 6th year staying at Sand Rose. Location is great right on the beach. Atmosphere is good, rooms are clean, view is excellent. Sand Rose is very clean, there is always someone cleaning or doing maintenance on the property. We appreciate this being a pet friendly hotel and pet fee is reasonable. Hotel could purchase new washers and dryers. Ice machines were broken. Every year there are new young people working at the front desk. They are poorly trained and did not know hotel policy such as making a reservation for following year. Front desk manager was not visible as hotel manager. If they were seen on property then did not speak to guests. VERY POOR MANAGEMENT. Due to not being trained or enough staff on duty, weekend check in wait times could be up to 1 1/2 hours. Management did not come to help! Key cards often did not work, causing many trips down to front desk. We were told hotel is getting a new system. Management did not inform breakfast staff of a large meeting and the food ran out. Felt sorry for breakfast staff, was not their fault.

“Nice but not located centrally”

Sand Rose is located on the North end of the Island. Most of the restaurants and bars are on the South end. Sand Rose is located on the North end of the Island. Most of the restaurants and bars are on the South end. The Island does have a free shuttle bus that you can take, but it doesn’t run continuously or on time. They rent 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella for $45. Because I was there by myself I asked how much for 1 lounge chair and umbrella. I was told $40. Needless to say I didn’t rent it. That is taking advantage of a solo traveler. I already paid more for my room. I went to Adventure Island to go horseback riding. I asked at the front desk if the shuttle bus takes you there. I was told yes. Come to find out the shuttle bus does not go any further North of the Sand Rose hotel. The staff doesn’t speak any English or very little. The lounge chairs around the pool are nice. It was also nice to have the continental breakfast every day. Rooms are nice size. Bayliner’s and Clayton’s food prices are very reasonable and are located right next to Sand Rose.
