The woman working the night shift at the front desk was so so nice. Our kiddos were grouchy from a long drive but she offered them a box of toys and fidgets to choose from which was super kind. Check in was easy, rooms were very clean and comfortable. Pool was open and not even crowded. Breakfast was amazing.

“Everything I expect from Hilton Brands/A very good stay”

I picked this place on price and points, not caring too much about location. Upon arrival at check in time I found the place to be everything it’s supposed to be. They call this room a suite, which I consider to be stretching the truth just a bit. It’s a room w/kitchenette, and only offers a curtain to separate the sleeping area from the sitting area. The very first thing I noticed is the digital keys on my phone actually work. This is not guaranteed from property to property. In the room is a full sized refrigerator, mini bar skink, coffee maker, microwave, food waste disposer, and full sized dishwasher. There is no range top leaving the guest with real dishes, and no place to cook. IT just feels dumb to include real dishes, a dishwasher, sink, and no way to heat anything but the microwave. The bathroom was sparkling clean in both the vanity and tub areas. Although many brands are moving away from carpeted floors, this one still had carpet in the sleeping area. The desk staff, housekeeping staff, kitchen staff, and all the people running the place were super-professional and accommodating. The colors picked by corporate for the building are sort of depressing. Their breakfast was the standard fare found in most free breakfast places, and this one had both waffles and pancakes, which is indeed rare. I have always thought an automated pancake machine a bad idea since automatic waffle machines are less problematic, and require less cleaning. The bed, towels, linens, and all associated paraphernalia were in fresh and new condition. Nothing anywhere shows any kind of wear. They offer an iron, and a hair dryer for those who need such things, as well as shoe cleaning wipes, and makeup remover towelettes, and plenty of liquid soap, conditioner, and shampoo. One of the better things in this room is one switch near the entry marked “master.” It shuts off all the lights at once, except for table lamps. Another idiosyncrasy of this place is the rear entry. They have put key card access on a ½ door (gate) entering the pool. It has a crash bar on the other side, and one only needs to reach over and press it to open the door. Being the back door to the building is always locked, the purpose for this thing is seriously in question. It does nothing but aggravate the guests, and provides no security at all. I wish I knew why almost no lodging property gives the guest a trash receptacle big enough to hold more than an empty drink cup. I don’t want to leave a big mess for housekeeping, but honestly, they don’t leave me any way to clean up after myself. And, I just don’t like staying in a room for several days with trash lying around. Every property wants to skip housekeeping for stay-overs, a by-product of Covid, which has turned into just a new way to short-change the customer, yet claim it’s benefiting them somehow. I’m not thrilled with the idea. This would be the first time I’ve found two different brands at two different price points operating under one roof. This place houses both Tru and Home 2 in the same building, and it’s next to Homewood Suites in the same parking lot. At least Homewood Suites got drapes. I would recommend this place and I would stay with them again. The things I don’t like here are not within control of the franchisee, and they are, at best, minor. The staff and management is to be commended for the way they run this ship. I could only wish that all properties are able to keep up with them.

Our first time staying at a Home2Suites. I didn’t realize all of the extras you get over a regular hotel room such as dishes, paper towels, larger fridge, and a kitchen sink. We stayed as a family of 4 and our kids loved it. Cons: A dog was barking in the room next to us after 10 pm. You get one very small trash can. It’s hard when you have a kid in diapers. There was 1 wash cloth and 3 towels in the bathroom room even though my reservation was for four guests. I’m hoping that was just an overlook.
