We stayed in a quaint cabin that provided a gas fueled fireplace to take off the evening chill. The kitchenette provided coffee & tea, the front porch was the perfect spot to sip a cuppa and watch the sunlight move along the canyon wall. I highly recommend their outdoors brewpub and upstairs restaurant, where the chef was outstanding! Every meal (lunch & dinner) proved to be the best we’ve had of all the national parks we’ve visited (me=35, spouse=41). Despite the circus-like atmosphere at times (tour buses unloading and tourists on bikes driving in large groups), the cabins were far away enough from the busy lodge area to give a sense of privacy and quiet.

“Great location, nice hotel! Would recommend”

The location of the lodge is ideal for exploring the park. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. Its furnishings are in keeping with the lodge look and feel. The location of the lodge is ideal for exploring the park. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. Its furnishings are in keeping with the lodge look and feel. I would have given 5 stars but the toilet was broken, maintenance fixed it and it broke immediately after he left. Also the paths at night were so dark, I couldn’t see where to walk.

“Two serious problems, but otherwise great”

We had a Western Cabin for two nights in January. We had stayed in a cabin 20 years ago. There was a noticeable improvement this trip from our past trip. The cabin was clean and seemed to have been refurbished not so long ago. The cabin was well-stocked with amenities and had a microwave, coffee maker, and mini fridge. In a Western Cabin one cannot be better located for hiking, etc. I would give the Western Cabins five stars but for two problems: First, the heater/ac unit cycled on and off rather that run continuously, and when on it ran loudly, loud enough that it awakened me more than one at night. Second, the gas fireplace would flame with a nice glow for awhile, but then a loud, cranking fan would come on, ruining the esthetic. Both units are seriously in need of modern replacements. Apart from these two problems, the Western Cabins was a good value in January (and it turned out that January was a good time to visit despite it being low low season).

“Large comfy rooms in wonderful location”

We'd resigned ourselves to the fact that we most likely wouldn't be able to stay within the park itself when visiting Zion for the 4th time, due to the fact it's super difficult to secure a reservation. However, after checking in constantly for cancellations, we managed to get a ground floor room with a brilliant view across the from of the hotel grounds! It goes without saying that the location is fab, and you can't go wrong just wandering around the hotel and grounds, or sitting on the porch of your room, but obviously for those looking to stay close to all the wonderful walks and hikes, it's perfect! One bonus to staying here is that you get access down through the canyon road that is otherwise closed o cars during the season, and although you can't stop during the drive down, it's nice to take it slow and enjoy the views on the way to and from the hotel. There was plenty of parking for the lodge. It was fairly busy when we visited in mid-September, but we planed ahead and booked a table for the restaurant a couple of weeks ahead of time. Check-in was pretty slow, but that's to be expected during peak season. The hotel has everything you need without going back out into Springdale, although obviously you're limited for food options with only one restaurant and a cafe/bakery type shop. The gift shop was nice if expensive, but that's par for the course these days in any national park lodgings. We had coffee and a snack earlier on from the busy cafe/shop, then ate in the restaurant later. The food was average but it's convenient to be able to eat on site, and the service was decent. Our room was lovely, large and clean, with comfy beds and a fantastic balcony/porch to sit out on. We watched deer, wild turkeys (and people!) while enjoying a drink on the big comfy chairs provided. The bathroom was clean but older style, again like most park lodges. We slept well and there wasn't any noise from adjoining rooms etc, in fact the night soundscape outside was lovely once the hotel grounds went quiet.
