I came across this place and didn’t think much of it till I arrived, and it was been the most wonderful experience. A through and through Bed and Breakfast the house is incredibly cozy with a fire place to sit at at the end of a long day, an intimate bar, on the most delicious Hollandaise Sauce you’ve ever had. 10/10 will return.

“Wonderful”

The Old Stagecoach Inn is fantastic. Crista is a wonderful host and the Eggs Benedict, included with the room, was excellent. Already planning my next trip here. Joni

“GREAT LOCATION & BUILDING / COULD USE REFRESHING”

Stayed here for 3 days as couple for skiing. THE GOOD: LOCATION: walk to downtown restaurants in a couple minutes. Easy access to Stowe, Burlington. Stayed here for 3 days as couple for skiing. THE GOOD: LOCATION: walk to downtown restaurants in a couple minutes. Easy access to Stowe, Burlington. BED: clean and comfy, crisp white linens HISTORIC BUILDING: its unique, vintage furnishings, stained glass windows in old Victorian. Not a cookie cutter chain with no character. COFFEE/TEA/WATER: in lobby at all times EASY CHECK IN/OUT: Online super simple PARKING: plenty right outside your door THE MEH: SOUND….right on the street AND sound between floors. We were second floor with a family right above us, and could hear every footstep (again, historic house). Street noise, but inn provides white noise machine so that really not an issue HEAT: There’s plenty of it! As in, we opened window to cool room. MAINTENANCE….some of furnishings/room features need upkeep (chipped paint, tired carpets, tired upholstery in common areas) NOTE: ***NO HOUSEKEEPING UNLESS YOU REQUEST*** (if you are staying 3 days or less) ***NO TV IN ROOM*** I’m personally good with this, but important to note as it’s assumed in most stays today. BOTTOM LINE: Would I stay here again? Yes. The location, hospitality and character of the inn was greater than its demerits. As a person appreciates design, I would love to see the rooms refreshed with a coat of paint in rich victorian colors and some updated upholstery, because I think this is a charming place with beautiful bones that simply needs a little refresh.

We had a 2 day stay here and from the start the place did look well. It is only when you dig a little deeper you can see the cracks. I really am not down on the inn it does have a certain old world New England charm however there are several things that let this place down. The room we booked was deluxe king studio room. We though we could cook the odd meal and save a few dollars as we had driven a 3 week road trip around Canada and we're finishing in Boston. The room is spacious and had a 4 ring electric cooker. Then as I said looking at the finer details. The were 2 cups 2 bowls 2 knives two forks and 2 spoons 2 plates you can see where its going here. To use any of these items we had to wash them. They were all dirty as were the pots and pans. We didn't use the oven because it may have taken a bit of work. It was not clean and still had the grease on the trays from the former residents. The room had a real issue with ladybirds / ladybugs as the say in the States. We kept finding them in the bathroom, bedroom area several dead ones on the carpet and the skylight was full of them along with other flying insects. I understand the odd one can get in but the room had more than its fair share. The room was ridiculosy hot. Thankfully there was a tower fan which we had to have on all night in an attempt to cool the room. This had the draw back of being noisy and affecting our sleep anyway. The bed was comfortable but although the windows had curtains and blinds the high skylight had no cover which meant at around 06.30 this time of year the light was streaming in. Not great if you enjoy a lie in. On top of this the building and furnishings are starting to show real signs of neglect. The balcony we had looked visibly distressed. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast was just amazing. Plenty of choice and the eggs benedict is amazing, had it both days. We did mention the issues and the owner who deducted $33.19 even though we didn't ask for this,off the bill, less than 10%. We paid $363.19 for 2 nights through booking.com. Make of that what you will. Honeslty I would be reluctant to use the Inn again.
