The parking lot was very crowded when I arrived at night. there was pretty much nowhere to park. the room was very clean, the bathroom was small, but my stay was quiet and uninterrupted. it felt safe and there is a gas station right across the street. the store attached to the gas station does not have much. it was quick and easy to check in and out. the front desk is staffed 24 hours. I did not have a problem, with my stay. the room was very clean and smoke.odor free.

“Reasonably priced hotel conveniently situated near DC”

This is a good place to stay to visit DC. There were lots of positives though a few inconveniences. I will echo so many of the other reviews… yes, the interior of the hotel looks dated. It’s kind of dark and heavy wood when many hotels are refreshing to bright and updated looks. Because they maintain it fairly well. All the spaces we had cause to be were clean. So I can live with a dated look if everything is well maintained. Service: check in was easy and as a Choice member I was able to get free early check in. The young man at the front desk was helpful with all the pertinent info: metro, food, shuttle, etc. we needed extra pillows and towels and that was easily obtained from the front desk. Room: we had a 2 queen with couch bed room. Beds were comfortable. Couch ged was okay. Could use sturdier mattress, but I’ve yet to meet a couch bed as comfortable as a regular bed. It worked for a teen for a couple nights. There were 2 sinks: 1 in bathroom and another with counter in a little getting ready space. That was useful with 5 people getting ready in the morning. Room was very spacious. Couple negatives: the fridge wasn’t working and we didn’t realize it until we were leaving. So we lost a few things we’d put in fridge on first night… and just didn’t realize it wasn’t keeping stuff cool until we went to get them out before leaving. In the world of all things that charge, more outlets are definitely needed. They try to remedy this with a little added outlet option on the desk with a place for 2 usb plugs and 2 more outlets. But ours didn’t work. We made due with cycling through chargers for things but those extra plugs would have been nice to have. Breakfast: hotel has nice breakfast set up. It’s what I consider standard hot breakfast fare these days: couple of hot options with meat and egg, waffle station(s), cereal options, bread/toast/pastries… and a couple fruit and cold options thrown in. Good and filling before heading out for the day. Metro: their shuttle only leaves on the hour. We took it once and agreed it would have been just as convenient to just go ahead and walk the relatively easy 10-11 minute walk rather than waiting 15 minutes before we could leave. The walk to metro is easy and there’s only a gentle incline that you walk on the way back. It only took us about 25 minutes to get into city area with popular stops like Metro Center or Smithsonian. Free parking is a plus with parking fees closer to the DC area. Reasonable rates. Spacious rooms. Overall, I think this is a great option for anyone considering a visit to the Nation’s Capital. Definitely recommend.
