The Westin Reston Heights hotel offers several benefits to consider during your stay in the area, including its peaceful atmosphere on weekends and ample parking options. I had the chance to stay here several years ago and remember the pool and jacuzzi section on the top floor, which was relaxing during my stay. I decided to return and found it worthwhile as a way to desensitize myself after a business trip and reconnect with nearby friends. I was fortunate to stay in one of their suites, which included a Peloton bike. The room was more than spacious, comfortable, and worth having if you want the convenience of exercising during your stay in the early mornings. I was able to revisit the pool area, but this time, it was a bit crowded with guests and children in and out of the jacuzzi. It was not as relaxing as my previous experience, but it was worth going back and using it at least once. The breakfast in the morning was substantial and well-stocked, offering a variety of options. Weekends tend to be a bit quieter, but I did love having this peace that was needed after a hectic week. I recommend this place, especially if you want to be in a quiet area while still being close to Washington, D.C., or Northern Virginia.

The hotel itself was immaculate and well designed and our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Our favorite part of the stay was the heated indoor pool and hot tub with a view. ( many hotels list having a pool but once there have a different excuse why it’s closed. I purposely pick hotels for my teen with a pool for a staycation away and he loves the fun places with extra touches) This hotel pool, gym and views didn’t disappoint. They didn’t restock fresh towels the entire 2 day stay despite asking someone to send some up and so we had to re use our wet ones from the day before. A bit of a pain. There were leftover toys from someone too. So I’m not sure anyone was actually checking the pool area all weekend. The only issues I had were there were only 2 towels given for the room for 2 people which I found strange. I asked for more to be sent up and 25 mins later they arrived. The manager apologized and remedied it. The other thing I noticed were there were zero coffee creamers provided with our room and so you had to enjoy only a black coffee which was hard upon waking. The TV remote system was quite laborious and you couldn’t log into your streaming apps for a movie and their TV options were limited. So if you’re staying in and want a good movie, that may be problematic. The WiFi wavered in and out at times, too. We had wanted to try out a happy hour meal but were stated they were closed for a private event. Once again, if you’re a hotel guest, you shouldn’t be prioritized after restaurant customers. We ended up ordering in most of our time there to avoid figuring out when they may or may not have been available for dining. The final morning, we stopped down for their $23 breakfast buffet. There were enough options to match everyone’s preferences but was it worth $23? Hardly not. There wasn’t any creamers for flavoring coffee and when I mentioned the milk was out, a front desk woman came over to “ correct me” that some cream lay at the bottom. Who does that? It felt demeaning and treating your customers in this manner was very unprofessional. Upon check out, the same woman didn’t ask how our stay was. I had wanted to leave a cash tip for housekeeping but their AtM machine didn’t work. Lastly, while I understand key cards can be to keep from bad folks entering the hotel, in a city like Reston, it’s not needed. When you have teenagers and they need a key constantly go go back and forth, it becomes cumbersome to have to switch, find the key, which twice didn’t work anyhow and we had to return to the front desk to make the key work. Common areas really shouldn’t require a key such as an elevator. For fragrance sensitive folks, be warned. This hotel has a strong, floral fragrance I see throughout the hotel. Great for a mood boost, terrible for your actual health. Overall, this hotel gets a 3.5 for the bed, sleeping and heated pool but without enough towels, swim area not restocked daily, and a bit of an attitude from their front desk lady, I’d say, it isn’t my top favs.
