#1 VERY comfy bedding and pillows! #2 Lots of fluffy towels and bathrobe! #3 Yes, you share a bathroom European or hostel style; but the bathrooms were very clean and there were plenty of them! #4 Interesting murals, photos, quotes and decor EVERYWHERE - even in the bathrooms!!! The front desk has info sheets on the origins of the names of the rooms and some hotel history; a recommended read! #5 If you stay on the side closest to the rail tracks, the Amtrak station is literally directly behind you. It's easy to catch your train from here. #6 A piece of advice: USE THE BACK STAIRS. They aren't as intense as the front ones. The back hotel door is right next to the door to enter the pub. #7 Before you complain about the noise, be sure you read the info that you were provided on their website! You have no excuses to not be informed in this case. #8 The staff couldn't be more helpful and friendlier! Made me as a solo traveler feel very safe. #9 The locks on both entry doors and the doors to the rooms are sturdy - you'll definitely feel secure. #10 You are within easy walking distance of multiple restaurants, a nice college campus, cozy boutiques, large antique malls, a nice local park...and I highly recommend walking around and seeing the lovely murals on the sides of the buildings. #11 Lest I forget, morning coffee and hot water available for tea every morning, as well as free local newspapers!

“Such a great hotel, here are some tips to cut down on train noise”

I love this place. It’s so unique and centrally located, there’s so much to do both in this hotel and on the great historic street. As long as you’re out there on the days where things are open. I love this place. It’s so unique and centrally located, there’s so much to do both in this hotel and on the great historic street. As long as you’re out there on the days where things are open. Everyone else focuses on the amenities so I’m just going to focus on noise. My wife is a light sleeper and loves this hotel. But we’re careful about which rooms we pick. If you’re looking into minimize the train, I the king rooms which are located upfront or alternatively one of the twin bunk rooms. That way you’ll hear less noise from the train. You can also call the hotel and request a queen room without a window but instead with a skylight. Those cut down on the noise too but you will need to call the hotel to reserve that room, otherwise you’ll get thrown into a random queen room. I prefer being in a king room over the theater because once the movie is over it’s the quietest place in the hotel. But if you go to bed before 10:30 PM and don’t want to hear the movie then maybe it’s not for you. But if you plan on seeing that movie or if you stay up after the movies over, 100% love it, it’s where my wife likes to stay. The twin bunk rooms are a bit darker than the king because there’s no wall windows but they do have a skylight window. My 13yo nephew loved it. One of the twin bunk rooms does not have a sink so if you’re staying in a twin room bunk room make sure you’ve got one with a sink. The only rooms that I think are really off the list are the queen rooms facing the railroad tracks (and a few back ) because it’s so darn loud when that train goes by. But if you stay in a queen room with a window the train is going to be louder than staying in either a king room or the twin room. And yes, I there are some queen room skylight windows only so that’ll dampen the train noise. And a foam earplugs are not your thing, bring something that works for you.

“Love movies, food and beers”

We lovexto go to the movies at McMenamens for movies and dinner, a few beers always make it better. Comfortable fun atmosphere, good food , good beer and friendly staff. Would recommend this location. Small town vibes.

They do a great job maintaining and cleaning this hotel. Note it is shared bathrooms and shower rooms. There was no lineup for them. They do a great job maintaining and cleaning this hotel. Note it is shared bathrooms and shower rooms. There was no lineup for them. Decor /art on the walls is great and tells of Centralia history.... It is dog friendly. There is no tv in the room but that's ok. There is wifi and we got to watch the new Indiana Jones movie in the theatre. The train is loud as we were in a back room but they supply earplugs. It's a reasonable stay here. Good staff.
