Overall not a bad place to stay considering it was one of the better Super 8’s I’ve been to (no partiers, smokers or druggies in the parking lot like at Motel 6) and given the price point it was pretty much as expected. I felt safe traveling alone with one of my children. Parking lot was well lit and I didn’t worry about my car either. I’d stay again but I normally prefer a higher end hotel if one is available. This was a last minute visit to the area so my choices were limited. Pros: Surprisingly comfortable bed and pillows, no carpeting in the room which i prefer, convenient location off the highway, very quiet, everything i used was in working order. Cons: internet cut out at times, room itself not bad but hotel is old and dingy and in need of a remodel, all white bedding should be standard these days as it can be bleached (one of the gray blankets had something on it we couldn’t identify so we didn’t use it), super wobbly nightstand (didn’t affect our stay at all just putting it out there for someone who might care), clothes iron was missing from the wall bracket and there was no ironing board but i didn’t need them so not a big deal to me, you could tell there were particular things that hadn’t been cleaned or dusted (woodwork, toilet paper holders, tv remote), we didn’t get any information on breakfast at check-in (luckily i read it online but didn’t know what time it started and i forgot to ask), the “light” breakfast didn’t consist of many options (only one choice of fruit, only one hot option which was a waffle, and when we went at 7:00am there were only 2 muffins left which might not have been bad but they were really tiny not like the jumbo ones that are a meal themselves), $25 fee for late checkout which i opted not to do simply because of the fee, the outlets on the light fixtures worked but were so loose that our charging bricks kept falling out.

When we discovered Oshkosh hotel rates were already jacked up ahead of the EEA and Sheboygan County hotels were limited due to Riad America, we finally found a reasonable price room at the Super 8 in Fond Du Lac. We stayed for two weekend nights at $139 per night plus tax and fees and then came back for 5 nights at $104 per night plus tax and fees. It is conveniently located off of Highway 41. There is off street free parking. There is nearby turn around space for large vehicles at the mainly empty Kohl's back parking from the old mall lot next door. The front desk was friendly and efficient. There are two stories but no elevator. It was a quiet hotel even though it was fairly busy with highway 41 nearby. It was walking distance to a Panda Express and a local Mexican restaurant. It is a short drive to many other restaurants, shopping areas, sites and other conveniences. There is an ATM in the lobby and a safe in the room. We had a microwave and a minifridge (though no freezer section). We had two drawer dressers. We had a desk with chair and a separate lounge chair. The first stay we had a queen single with nightstands and lights on both sides. The second stay we had a single king. The first stay we had an accessible self-contained bathroom. There was free reliable internet and free accessible ice machines. There was a hair dryer but no iron or board. Toiletries were in dispensers. The grounds were fairly clean. In fact, we saw the night manager picking up trash and changing trash barrels. There was also housekeeping each day. The breakfast was a bit limited. It was mainly continental items. Some mornings, items were not refilled. Unfortunately, conservative news programs were on during breakfast in the common space. There was an accessible coin operated laundry. The neighborhood seemed safe. It was the most competitive price during all these summer events.
