Thoroughly enjoyed our recent 3 nights at the Starlite Hotel. We found the rooms well thought out and conveniently designed. The website photos are accurate. We stayed in a double queen room that had a long bench to accommodate suitcases and an area for sitting that had 2 cafe tables. There isn’t a dresser or closet but open storage shelves, 3 drawers under the bench and several hooks for hanging items. We found this design met our needs comfortably. There are no hangers in the room but I imagine the hotel would supply them if requested. There was a clothes steamer, which we didn’t use, but seemed very convenient. There was a small refrigerator, microwave, and kuerig coffee machine. My personal preference was the fresh brew machine that was in the lobby. The bathroom has 2 sinks, what a treat! The floor was tiled with large stone tiles and had a walk in shower. We appreciated the roomy size of the bathroom. The hotel amenities were lovely. As mentioned in other reviews the aqua massage beds offered a pulsating full body massage. The hot tub was large, and the jets strong. The indoor pool has a water slide which several children were enjoying. There is a bright mural painted on the walls of the pool area. The game room had a variety of arcade games, air hockey, foosball and one more. The best past was it was all complementary. The lobby is inviting and there is another cozy sitting area on the second floor. Each of the employees we encountered were friendly and eager to make us comfortable. All this a quick ride to the gates to Yellowstone NP!

“Nice hotel”

I stayed here for one night. It was pretty nice. It looks like an older hotel that had a complete redo. The decor is nice and the people were also nice. I enjoyed my stay.

Overall Vibe: A well-located, visually striking hotel with spacious rooms and genuinely helpful staff — but the premium price tag doesn’t quite match the experience once you get past the aesthetics. THE HIGHLIGHTS The lobby makes a statement. The starlit welcome desk is genuinely magnetic — the kind of first impression that sets a tone. Lori at the front desk was warm and knowledgeable, pointing us toward local food spots like a local, not a script. The room itself is a rare find for families: three queen beds, including a sturdy bunk configuration that my two teens claimed immediately and never complained about. Add a full seating area with a dining table, a couch, and a massive 4K TV, and you have a room that actually functions for a family of three or four. Everything feels clean, well-maintained, and fresh — not the “worn hotel” feeling you sometimes brace for. Storage is genuinely impressive — more than you’d expect. A sizable bench with drawers anchors the room, and there’s ample space to unpack and actually live out of the room rather than dig through bags all week. Location is a genuine strength. You’re practically at the West Yellowstone entrance, which saves time and mental energy on early park days. THE HONEST CAVEATS The Black Sheep Café is onsite, but we weren’t impressed with the food. Convenient in a pinch, but don’t make it a destination. The linens, towels, and pillowcases are rough enough to notice — pack your own if you’re texture-sensitive. And fair warning: the sheets and blankets are surprisingly noisy. My son is a restless sleeper, and every time he moved, it woke me up. A small but real consideration if you’re a light sleeper sharing a room. The renovation is real, but so is the building underneath it. The elevator creaks with some conviction, and the pool on the first floor sends its presence throughout the hallway in the form of a strong chlorine odor. That same pool area apparently has a faulty fire alarm sensor — ours went off close to midnight, and another guest mentioned it was their second false alarm of the stay. Worth knowing if you’re a light sleeper or traveling with kids. No complimentary breakfast, and the mini fridge is genuinely mini — if you’re planning picnic prep or stocking snacks for park days, manage expectations. A cooler might serve you better. One small navigation note: the entrance is tucked into a breezeway and isn’t immediately obvious on arrival. Give yourself a moment to orient — you’ll find it. Price: West Yellowstone in season is supply-and-demand pricing at its most unapologetic. You’re paying for proximity, not luxury. Know that going in. BOTTOM LINE If you’re traveling with family and need a functional, spacious, well-located base camp for Yellowstone, this works and the three queen bedroom is fantastic. You’ll feel safe and comfortable — midnight fire alarms notwithstanding. Just don’t come expecting resort-level polish for resort-level prices, and pack your own soft linens.
