The location of the hotel is quite good, there are lots of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants around. Main points of attraction like Registan and Gur Emir are at 30-40 min walking distance. The room are clean and quite comfottable but the whole impression gets ruined by the service. We had booked a tripple room on-line for three nights to discover upon arrival that it was not availabe and were offered a twin room instaed for a night and a possibility to move into tripple room after, which we had to accept. The room cards never worked and I had to get back to the reception every time I tried to open my room. The breakfast is just OK, however the coffee is instant only. Normally you expect more from a three star hotel.Generally it wasn't worth the money I paid.

Stayed at Standard room for 2 nights in July 2018. Receptionists spoke some English. At the time of checkin, we were demanded to pay in local currency, at the exchange rate set by the central bank (that could be different from what we would actually change at the bank), although our booking was solely in USD. After some discussions, we surrendered and agreed to go outside later to exchange, on behalf of the hotel. After we checked into our room and were about to go out, we were told that the hotel was then ready to receive USD as per booking confirmation. Ok, all cleared now and time wasted for long discussion if not argument. We booked a standard room and got a spacious but basic, functional, and traditional appearance room No, 18. The exact room didn't seem to look alike as the photos presented in the 3rd party web-based booking agency, and I suspected due to the photos touch up and lighting effect. The actual room situation is more depressing and traditional, like in the yester years. Ok fine. Then later in the evening I realized that the bathroom generated some awful toilet smell, coming from either the sewage system or somewhere. We had to bear the awful smell whenever we used the bathroom. The next morning, I talked to another receptionist young man who also spoke good English and arranged us to change another room No. 4, which is smaller, but much better. Later on, another receptionist young man was kind enough to help us to call a taxi back to the train station. Very appreciated. The Breakfast spread was limited but marginally adequate. Just took more carbo items to fill the stomach to keep us going. Generally, it is not a hotel I want to stay again.
