“It's OK”

A little tired and dated but clean. I believe it's under Chinese ownership. Breakfast was catering for Asian tastes, so noodles etc. I don't really want to eat breakfast listening to people slurp their meals, cough up phlegm and so on. There were some very sweet cornflakes, coffee is instant but that's ok. The smell of onions and food being fried made it to my bedroom on the top floor. Take away breakfast was smelly and no utensils were provided. Shower was ok, did the job and the toiletries were decent, including shower gel, cosmetic kits, toothbrush kits and shave sets. Two 500ml bottles of water in your room each day. Not too noisy.  Other than being able to hear other guests cough up and spit out phlegm constantly. One night all the room lights came on suddenly, twice, at 1am. This was in every room. The staff are lovely and really helpful. The hotel is close to banks, convenience stores as well as restaurants.

I stayed at the Crocus Tashkent Hotel in Uzbekistan from July 31st to August 7th, 2023 for a training course organized by the IIHF. Overall, the hotel provided a pleasant experience during my one-week stay. First and foremost, the cleanliness and tidiness of the hotel were well-maintained, although I changed my room twice because of problems with the ventilation system and bathroom hose problem. The rooms were adequately spacious and had decent amenities. The hotel also had a small pool, which was a useful spot for relaxation, and we had memorable nights there. The hotel's food was average to good and of satisfactory quality. The location of the hotel was not particularly interesting, but with a short walk of at least twenty minutes, one could reach sightseeing and recreational areas, although Tashkent itself doesn't have many tourist attractions. The hotel staff, especially during morning shifts, spoke English well and were helpful in many situations such as obtaining a SIM card and arranging taxis. The people of Uzbekistan are known for their hospitality. If I were to visit Tashkent again, this hotel would likely be among my top choices.

The hotel is located very close to the Tashkent International airport (around 8 min by car). Still next to the hotel you can find bank, ATM, local market and few pharmacies. The reception area as well the restaurant is in modern style. The rooms are large, air conditioning system is very powerful so even if it is extremely hot outside, the room temperature is very nice. The hotel has very nice and big outside swimming pool surrounded by chairs and tables and outside bar. The food is decent, however only the instant coffee was available. Good wi-fi.
