I was booked to stay at the Samir while on a business trip to the Uzbekistan Region. Arriving late at night, the reception staff were hugely welcoming, had me checked in within minutes, and more than happy to ply me with a much needed beer! The room was large, clean, with a fabulous en-suite. The bed was a little hard, but still slept like a log. I was on the top floor, to the rear of the hotel, so was wonderfully peaceful. What is really lovely about this area is that toursim is a fairly new industry, and all of the places I have stayed have a naivety which is so endearing. Great service, traditional food, but without the commercialism of the big cains.

“Nice hotel in nice neighborhood”

We only had 1 night at Samir Hotel as it was our starting point of our Uzbekistan journey. The place made a brand new experience, everything looked nice and our room was spacious and clean. WIFI worked fast. The breakfast buffet was a nice selection of Uzbek dishes with eggs and muesli. We enjoyed a short walk thru the neighborhood, a green alley, and not to far away from the main street where you find some supermarkets and basics restaurants.

Staff is really nice, room is big and clean but: BED is the hardest ever, i told them and they put a double matress; even with that bed was still hard: ! i had never ever experienced a bed that hard.. terrible; so if you want to sleep properly there, ask for a triple matress;; INTERNET is absolutly… more

Staff is really nice, room is big and clean but: BED is the hardest ever, i told them and they put a double matress; even with that bed was still hard: ! i had never ever experienced a bed that hard.. terrible; so if you want to sleep properly there, ask for a triple matress;; INTERNET is absolutly NOT working; and in all country there s no 3G 4G or even 1 G; so be aware that you wont be able to do anything; i couldnt even book trips on line which i really needed to do; BREAKFAST is absolutly poor ; small buffet with porridge , a bit of cheese and bread.. the poorest ever.. the 2 day, as i ate only porridge, i realized they put some salt in it!!! i told them the porridge was salty and they made another for me: who the hell can put salt in porridge?? I HAD ROOM service i aked for french fries: they were cold, and they gave me what i thought would be salt with it, and actually it was sugar !! SO i put sugar on my fries; who gives sugar with fries! ?? i called them and they changed it; the server guy doesn t speak a word english so we communicated with google voice which was quite funny :) you can t put the heat you want in the room: so it was too hot, i had to put air con; so it s stupid because they put too much heat so that at the same time you have it and have to put air con: to sum up: really basic , dont expect any luxuary but for me the 3 main most important things in a hotel are missing that s why i would NOT return in this hotel : internet, a comfortable bed, a good breakfast : these are most important things that this hotel doesnt offer; hopefully the staff is very nice i have to insist on this aNd give them credits on it :) IT S QUITE expensive also: around 50 euros per night, too much for tashkent and this basic hotel
