We stayed at La Siesta Ma May from June 30th to July 4th as a family of five. Hanoi was buzzing, the scooters were everywhere (as expected), and this hotel turned out to be a fantastic base for exploring the Old Quarter. If location is your priority, you’re in for a treat. 🛏️ Rooms – ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) We originally booked two rooms but were upgraded to a spacious two-floor family room—always a pleasant surprise! We also saw the regular and executive rooms, which were clean, modern, and comfortable, although on the smaller side. Then again, you’re staying in the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, not the countryside, so a little less space is part of the deal. 📍 Location – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) This is where La Siesta really shines. You’re right in the middle of Hanoi’s Old Quarter with everything at your doorstep—Beer Street, the Night Market, cafés, restaurants, shopping, spas, and even barber shops if you fancy a fresh fade while on holiday. There’s plenty of life in the streets from morning until late at night, but surprisingly it never got so loud that we couldn’t sleep. We also found several halal and vegetarian restaurants nearby, which was a huge bonus. If I return to Hanoi, I’d happily stay in this area again. 😊 Service – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) The staff are simply outstanding. Everyone was genuinely friendly, always smiling, and eager to help with anything we needed. It’s the kind of service that makes you feel welcome rather than just checked in. 🍳 Breakfast – ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) A very good breakfast with plenty of choice, fresh fruit, and excellent coffee. The egg station was great, and there was enough variety to keep everyone happy. The only reason it doesn’t score higher is because another hotel in Hanoi spoiled us with a larger à la carte menu. I’d also love to see better bread and pastries. Still, it’s a solid breakfast and a great way to start a day of dodging scooters. ✅ Overall – ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ (4.5/5) La Siesta Ma May gets so much right. Better than other 5 star places. The unbeatable location, exceptional staff and their attention to detail, comfortable rooms, and good breakfast make it an easy recommendation. It may not be the biggest hotel or have a pool, but it has plenty of charm and service that punches well above its weight. Would I stay here again? Without hesitation. Great beds and the kids loved it. Just remember to look both ways… and then look again before crossing the street. It’s Hanoi after all. 🛵

“Fantastic hotel in the perfect location.”

This hotel is so great we added 3 extra nights to come back in July after travelling to other places in Vietnam. Fantastic location in the Old Quarter and near to everything. It’s the best welcome to a hotel we’ve had anywhere in the world…Jun and her colleagues and the doormen are amazing. They brought us drinks, carried our bags, checked us in a couple of hours early and Jun showed us to our room and advised on us great places to visit. An Le is also fantastic, incredibly helpful and a lovely person, she remembers everything we need. Honestly, their customer service is crazy good, I’ve stayed at very expensive hotels around the world where service is nowhere near as good as this place. Very pretty room with a large incredibly comfortable bed, bedding and pillows. A safe in the room and hairdryer, kettle etc. The breakfast was included, served buffet style in the in-house restaurant…so much choice and loads of fresh food and a beautiful looking space. The same area is a restaurant the rest of the day called Red Bean and our server Cho was great. The rooftop bar is an attractive space, again great staff, great design and fantastic views across the city. This hotel was recommended to me by a London friend who stayed here, I’m now going to recommend it to everyone, it’s so good!

I recently stayed here with my family - 2 adults and 4 kids and we all absolutely loved it. It’s in a great location close to great restaurants and markets. The staff here could not be more helpful. Big shout out to An Le on the front desk who helped sort out missing our transport to Halong bay. The beds here were like sleeping on a cloud!!! Thanks for having us - we will be back ☺️
