The Victory Hotel in HCMC is just fine for visiting the city and surrounding area. Its nothing fancy but the rooms were clean. The staff were very helpful with all our requests, accommodating and polite. The location is great if you are looking to do things around the downtown area. It is extremely close to the War Remnants Museum, Independence Palace and so many other sites. My only frustration was with the pool. They open the pool to outside paid groups so when we wanted to use the pool it was usually crowded with kids doing swim lessons and adults getting their daily laps in. Its a challenge to carve out some space for vacationing children who just want to goof off. The pool itself is large and has a very nice deck and location. I asked the staff about the group swim classes and was advised to swim earlier in the day - um hard no, I'm on vacation and have exploring to do in the mornings, thank you very much. The breakfast buffet, included with our room package, seemed good, unless your vegetarian. For vegetarians they have an omelet/pho station and enough non meat items to get you through the day. The coffee was terrible. Just save your taste buds and get coffee somewhere else. My struggle with this hotel was one I have often in SE Asian countries, there seems to be no consistency on room occupancy and bed size. We had one of those moments where we walked in the room and were like, "Oh this is gonna be interesting." We had two people sleep on the floor for the first night until we could secure a larger room the next day. Overall its a good clean hotel, with a great location, very nice staff and a good price.

PROS: Great breakfast. CONS: Poor wifi and swimming pool is not free. LOCATION: Very close to the war remnants museum. REVIEW:  Stayed in Sep-2024 for 1 night in deluxe twin room with breakfast. Previously stayed in Oct-2023 for 2 nights. The deluxe twin had 3 beds.  Room had mahogany type trimming (door, table, bed and headrests), the floor was carpet. Large room but had that old type feeling.  Great huge breakfast, on ground floor, with fuits and cooked meals, various soups at soup station, egg station and banh mi making area.  Luggage was looked after at reception whilst we went sight-seeing after checking-out. NEGATIVES:  Very very poor wifi especially at night frequently dropping the connection (reasonable at 7am in the morning).  Pool on 6th floor, however you need to pay for a ticket to swim or even sit on the poolside-deck-chairs

I signed a note that was in Vietnamese so I thought it was for our nightly hotel stays. We sent an email on the hotels website inquiring about these fees. A reply was not sent to us which is very disappointing.

“Disappointing”

Very disappointed. The pool area was dirty with broken tiles. Breakfast was ok, the fresh spring rolls we ordered at night were delicious. Very disappointed. The pool area was dirty with broken tiles. Breakfast was ok, the fresh spring rolls we ordered at night were delicious. Room was good, tv reception was terrible, and the balcony was not able to be used (could only stand). The Bar only had a few spirits and beer. The staff were lovely but I wouldnt stay there again unless it was upgraded.
