Here’s a polished version: This was our second visit to Sindabezi Island Camp after 21 years, and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. The camp is now operated by Green Safaris and is clearly committed to sustainability, while maintaining the high standards one expects from an exceptional safari experience. The open-air chalets facing the river are magical. Ours had a sunset view, and we could watch hippos and crocodiles from our deck. We also saw elephants, antelope, and baboons, and even listened to lions calling from the Zimbabwe side. All of our meals were delicious and thoughtfully prepared by Chef Paul, who even made a last-minute extra plate for our growing 17-year-old son. Sylvester, our butler, was attentive, kind, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Maybin was a knowledgeable and accommodating guide, and his sunset tour was excellent. The evening campfires were inviting and created a lovely sense of community before we were taken to our private table for dinner. Towela was a warm and welcoming host who kept us laughing with her interesting and funny stories. Every member of the staff, even those not assigned specifically to our family, was kind and accommodating. We also looked forward to the hot water bottles that kept us cozy during the chilly winter nights. Our Green Safaris visit to Victoria Falls and Angel’s Pool was fantastic as well. The guides took great photos and videos of us at the edge of the falls while keeping us safe, and the experience was followed by a lovely communal lunch. We look forward to our next visit to Sindabezi!

We’ve been holidaying in Africa for 15 years always heading for the bush/safari style trips and decided to do something different with Sindabezi. It’s situated on its own island in the middle of the Zambezi River with just 5 chalets and only accessible by boat. The game reserve is small but that means we have the animals in a concentrated area and wow were they out and about during our 4 days. We were allocated our personal butler and guide who were flawless and creative with their service. Our family of hippos kept us entertained The whole time just outside our outdoor seating area and provided a soothing soundtrack throughout the night. An idyllic escape.
