We were in Bogota on business and selected the Hilton Bogota and were very pleased. We spent many hours in the executive lounge and Luisa, Alejandra, and Jose were absolutely terrific. They took care of everything so professionally and joyfully. Jose also was our waiter several times in the main restaurant at the hotel and the service was wonderful. We encountered no problems at the hotel, but needed a few electronic devices and Jackson the concierge, went way beyond his duties to assist us in amazing way. We were very grateful. He also arranged transportation for and it was very appreciated. A great stay. Thank you very much to all the Hilton Bogota team.

After a lot of back and forth, the hotel did apologize for over billing and adjusted the billing by issuing a credit. The lesson learned here, when booking in a currency and the hotel at check out charges you in the local currency, don't sign before checking the conversion rate you are being charged ( Edited 3/19/2024) This is an edit to the stellar review I gave them. I still think the staff was amazing and did a great job BUT watch out for their billing. I booked our trip on the Hilton website in US dollar (as a matter of fact I booked all our hotels for that trip in Colombia directly at every hotel website in US dollars and the Hilton was the only one who pulled a number on us. We booked our stay for a total of $925.65 but they charged us $992.97. Yes, the difference isn't big but it's a matter of principal and being honest. I signed the checkout invoice in Colombian dollars and this is where they played with the amount. I want everyone to be aware at check-out/check-in to convert their Colombian pesos amount to their currency so that no one runs into this problem. I contacted the hotel but they blamed it on my credit card exchange rate which is absolutely rubbish because it is the hotel amount that was submitted wrong. We stayed at the Cartagena Hyatt and had no problem with exchange rate. Whatever amount we reserved online is the amount we paid for (no exchange rate problems). This is definitely a switch and bait on the part of the Hilton, so be warned. I changed my rating because I am disgusted by their dishonesty (edited 2/20/2024) I went back and forth and was undecided whether to give this hotel a 4 or 5 stars. I finally decided to go with 5 stars because of the stellar service. We were there for a wedding and quite a few of us were staying at the hotel. We were a large party. Upon arrival, Oscar checked us in. His smiley face and beautiful attitude was a wonderful welcome. He gave us a nice room on their top floor 1404. The room was spacious and clean with a large window with a view of the mountains and the city (some of the lower rooms didn't have much of a view). The walking shower was nice and large and you walked through a closet/dressing area to get to the bathroom. This area had a cloth hanging area and 4 small tiny drawers (not enough storage if you are staying a while). We kept our stuff in the suitcases, not ideal but we managed. The room was also on the darker side. I am being picky now..... Now to the service which was amazing! I mentioned Oscar at the reception desk, Ivan the bellhop always helpful at the front door, Louisa in the executive lounge with her great smile every morning she'd remember our beverage of choice and was super attentive. Every member of the staff we dealt with was courteous and eager to help (I am sorry I can't remember everyone's name). They were ALL Fantastic!! Estevan, the hotel driver, was amazing and last but not least Jackson, the concierge, a gem. A very personable person ready to help anytime of the day even when not on duty. He helped us book tours, find a hairdresser, makeup artist, restaurants....made appointments for us. I never had a hotel concierge go above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you Jackson for all your help. You were an absolute gem! The executive lounge is small but well equipped. There's a good variety of breads, pastries, cheeses, meats, fruits, juices and you can order omelettes or any kind of egg dishes you want. You can also have breakfast in the restaurant downstairs but I found the lounge cozier with more intimate service. We did have breakfast one day with everyone in the main restaurant but found it a bit chaotic (too many of us). In the afternoon from 5:00pm to 7:00pm the executive lounge offers small bites to eat and drinks. The reason I wanted to give them 4 stars and maybe even a 3 star: This hotel advertises a rooftop bar on the 15th floor with live music some evenings. At the step of the hotel there's not much in the evening so we were all looking forward to gathering in the evenings for a nightcap. We arrived the 3rd January and to our surprised it was closed for renovations. The front desk told us they weren't aware they would be closed. They were only made aware of the renovations on Jan 1st. Mind you the hotel has no other area to gather in. We tried the executive lounge (they accommodated us past hours) but it was too small. We tried the restaurant but it's big and cold and not conducive for gatherings and drinks. They have a tiny bar in the restaurant, basically a large table against the wall and two bistro tables ( a very tiny space). We ended up sitting in the lobby which had a total of eight seats, not the best place but it had to do, some sitting, some standing.... In my past experience, if a hotel main feature (restaurant, pool, bar,,,,) is to be unavailable during our stay, the hotels have always sent us an e-mail letting us know. In this instance, Hilton totally failed us but I didn't want to penalize the stellar service of the staff. It's like going to a resort to sit at the pool and the pool is under construction. I hope management will take that in consideration next time they decide to renovate part of their hotel. They knew a large party was coming. They could have waited a week. Thank you all for making our visit to Bogota memorable!
