Just returned from a week at this amazing hotel. All I can write in my review is positives... All the staff are an absolute credit to the Hotel, from check-in, restaurants, bars, house-keeping etc. always had a smile and a pleasant "Hello" nothing was too much trouble and they all went above and beyond. The food was lovely. Always lots of choice and hot, even the fussiest person would find something to eat. we ate in 2 of the specialist restaurants - Asian & American again no complaints. All areas of the hotel inside and out are spotlessly clean. The sun lounger allocation works perfectly! you go down to the allocation desk they show you where your beds are allocated and you are taken to them, ours were on the grass area which is really nice, I asked if we could go on the list for pool beds and within a couple of days they came back to us and gave the option of 3 different areas around the pool. (please be patient they will get back to you as soon as pool ones are available!) The daytime/evening entertainment was varied and the team work extremely hard. Morning/afternoon they come round asking if you would like to take part and no pressure if you don't. We would definitely consider returning to The St George without doubt

“Amazing ”

2nd time here and did not dissapoint. Everything about thos place is great. The rooms are perfect, the food yummy, the service incredible and loving the new sunbed allocation Will be back next year and would highly recommend. Thanks tp everyone at St georges

We have just returned from a 5 day break at this lovely adults only hotel. All the rooms were spotless, clean and welcoming. We were given champagne and lemon chello upon arrival. One room unfortunately we did lose electricity a few times and were given a rubbish view but dispite this we still had a nice time. The food restaurants were very good. We had the buffet on the first night and last night there was a good variety of food. However the waitresses and waiters didn’t really know anything when we asked questions. The Asian restaurant was incredible!! The best out of all of them. The portions are massive so definitely go hungry. The Italian we found was a bit hit and miss. We didn’t try the route 66. Breakfast was the same every morning. Again lots of selection. We were all inclusive plus, the drinks were incredible! Some hotel drinks are watered down but no not this hotel. With the sun bed allocation, we are bit disappointed as we were unable to enjoy the resort as much as we would have liked. The staff tend to double book the sun beds which causes friction and uncalled for arguments with other residents of the hotel. (Make sure to book your sunbeds in advance). Through the day there were loads of sun beds ‘allocated’ but not in use. The entertainment staff were incredible!! Shout out to Mimo and Chicho!! You guys made every night/day funny, laughable, memorable and a good one. With activities, darts, shovel board, to evening entertainment such as bingo and karaoke etc was amazing. It is unfortunate the hotel has to cut the noise off by 11pm. We went for my mums 50th birthday, we were given a few bottles of champagne, treated with care. One entertainer kindly lended us his speaker for during the day. Mimo and Chicho would always stop by and say Hello. Mimo line was ‘I loveee my job’, he really made our day by saying this we will definitely remember you. The spa was very clean and peaceful. Overall I would say our stay was wonderful and memorable we had so much fun, laughter and lots of memories to cherish. Thank you again to all the lovely staff who took really good care of us.

“Easily forgettable experience at this below par hotel”

We expected more from this "Adults Only All Inclusive" hotel, but this hotel sadly did not deliver. Travel abroad is far more expensive than a few years ago, and while we have taken this into consideration, we do not think this hotel considers the full range of customers who choose to stay there. I will set out this review in sections to help you decide for yourself as I always think its best to provide the facts in order to help others make the right choice for themselves. HOTEL (Location) Situated away from Paphos town, not within walking distance, you need to have a car or use the bus. We got a day pass for the bus and found it fairly easy to get around, but be prepared to stand on the bus during busy times. Its about 15 minutes on the bus to Paphos bus station, change buses and you'll get to to the harbour in about another 10 minutes. From the bus station, it is possible to walk (around 10-15 minutes) to the King's Shopping Mall, which is worth a look if you like Mall shopping. Plenty of eateries and shops to look at, in air conditioned surroundings. Its about 15 minutes to Coral Bay, in the other direction. A nice small cove with a few hotels and restaurants but not a resort. We only spent around an hour there. Buses are regular in both directions, wait time around 10-15 minutes. The bus service has a timetable online for the different bus numbers - easy to figure out. The hotel is close to the beach, which is a pebble, sand and rocky beach. Quiet location. A supermarket close by where the staff are friendly and helpful. A couple of restaurants nearby, which we didn't try. HOTEL (Style and Facilities) Indoor pool was very nice, based in the Spa and Beauty treatment area on the lower floor. A couple of outdoor pools, and a swim up bar that got quite busy. The hotel is trying to accommodate most dietary requirements, but largely the food was bland, uninteresting and pitched towards the customer who prefers on tap food all day/night. The hotel looks nice but don't expect great service. There is no table service for drinks in the evening, for example. Could be hot in the main hotel, due to air con not working well (or not being on). No quiet spaces to sit in an evening (more in Entertainment section). You get the feeling that this hotel is finding its way with AI Adults only. I noted, on return, that its only been adults only for about a year, having dropped down in the rankings as a general hotel. No sign of management keeping an eye on the general proceedings - feels a bit "amateur". In the evening, everything is loud and noisy - conflicting music all clashing together - no shows or acts of any decent quality - poor singing voices and so loud that you cannot escape it. We longed for 11pm so we could relax again. ENTERTAINMENT/DAYTIME ACTIVITIES We like entertainment of an evening, but it wasn't good. Lots of shouting from the organiser, most of the time you couldn't understand what was being said. Came across as a bit patronising. During the day, you can't sit out on your balcony sometimes for the sounds of shouting from the pool aerobics and loud music. The daytime activities are poorly run (some didn't happen) and the area set aside for it was like an after thought (a wasteland piece of ground near the pool). Table tennis table should have been thrown away decades ago - totally unusable. RESTAURANTS They have some "speciality" restaurants, as well as buffet restaurants. Open when we were there was the Asian and the Burger restaurant (travelled April 2024). We tried the Asian, which sadly they have positioned as a section of the main restaurant. You can only select limited items from the menu on AI at the Asian and we thought it was pretty average and not a gourmet experience. Lunch was the nicest food experience in the lower floor buffet restaurant. The food tended to be fresher, the place less busy and the ambiance was very pleasant. Food in the evening was in the upper buffet restaurant and though we went at a fairly quiet time of the year, it was busy with waiting staff that didn't seem to have a clue. We went up for main course, after soup course one day, and they cleared our table. You have to help yourself to wine and water at dinner - very unusual. You felt like you were eating in the canteen. Food quite stodgy and unappetizing at times. No seafood and very little fish. Big chunks of meat. Salad buffet a bit limp and nothing to put with your salad (like cooked meats/feta for e.g). There is a patisserie which is quite handy if you want a coffee and cake/sandwich during the day. Often a big queue due to it also being a bar. BARS Cocktails horrible - full of cheap "cordial" and largely very sweet - avoid unless you like sweet drinks. No table service in the bar so you have to stand queuing for ages at the bar for a drink and then precariously navigate the steps to take your drinks to your table. They have some young staff clearing tables but they were just standing about and perhaps could have helped some of the older-than-us people with their drinks as some people were struggling. I have not stayed in a hotel like this before where bar staff were not taking bar orders and bringing it to your table. You get the feeling that they cannot get/keep good staff. You have to pay extra for any higher quality drinks. ROOMS Clean and nice big beds with good linen, towels changed regularly. Good system with the pool towels which were also very nice. Booking system for loungers. Toilet flusher broken, shower weak. Free safes in room. All told, we were fairly happy with the room. Balconies small and heavy plastic chairs meant that neighbouring guests were often moving these around at night and early mornings - not their fault because the chairs were fairly heavy to lift. Soundproofing average though the plumbing system from neighbouring rooms meant that you could quite easily hear flushing and refilling of toilets. Overall, as you may have gathered, we will not be repeat guests. Far better quality elsewhere in Cyprus and beyond. You get a feel that this hotel is trying to be something more upmarket but failing. We didn't pick it for that, we thought it would be ok for a short break. I have to say that apart from a good nights sleep, after the entertainment had piped down, there isn't much else to recommend it. And to stay there all day, the only guests it would please are non-stop eaters. Due to its location, you can feel a bit trapped. We have a broad experience of half board and AI, as well as self catering/B&B across Europe, and we find that this hotel falls short of the mark - dressed up as "fancy" but nowhere near that in reality. Granted, the hotel needs to be AI due to its location but there is nowhere to wander out and escape it, and that's a big downside for us when the hotel is run-of-the-mill, at best.
