Fantastic trip! When I booked it looked a little pricey to me, but immediately after I got there I could tell this resort is great value. The closest thing I had experienced before was the Four Seasons in Baia Papagayo, but the experience at Cayo Levantado was better and the price was less than half. Great facilities, great staff, tons of activities (there is no reason to leave the resort), great food, all in a truly paradisiac location.

“Paradise!”

Amazing island and experience! Cayo Levantado has exceeded our expectations! Premium all-inclusive, beautiful restaurants and delicious food and presentation. Wellness activities are amazing and the beach is a paradise! New hotel, great structure and staff! Would definitely go back!!

After arriving at Samana airport we had about a 70 minute journey to a small building with a dock to be transported to the island itself.We were checked in and able to order a cocktail from the bar and either relax inside or outside while waiting for the boat which came after 10 minutes and took us and our luggage to the resort itself. Once on the island we were taken to the lobby and given keys to our room which were bracelets we wore for the rest of our stay that you held against the door to unlock it . A golf cart took us to our room which was on the ground floor of one of the villas, an easy walk to the hotel lobby and also to the beach and the lower pool via some steps. The room and facilities were explained to us and one of the features of the room was a large television which had a remote to control the lights, temperature, order room service, book restaurants and contact the assigned ambassadors for anything we wanted. One of the easiest and fast check ins we have ever experienced. The room itself was absolutely beautiful with a nice rain shower, twin wash basins, separate wc, a well stocked fridge and a balcony with a view of the ocean although mostly obscured by vegetation. The balcony was a lovely place to just relax with comfortable chairs. The room also had a plunge pool that was little more than the size of two baths but the water felt quite cold and we never used it. All together the room was amazing and always spotlessly cleaned and restocked every day. The beach is next to a nice pool and also one of the two restaurants where you can have breakfast and lunch, the other being beside the upper pool. The sand was lovely and soft and the water itself was nice and warm and easy to swim in. There were many loungers, chairs, and large bean bag type beds both on the beach and beside the pool. Never a problem finding somewhere either in the sun or shade .There is also a beach bar with service obtained by ringing a bell from the button supplied at the loungers. Although small, the beach was beautiful with no seaweed problems, and the pool provided a nice alternative too. There is a gift shop with beachwear in the area as well. The upper pool has its own bar and many loungers, covered sunbeds in a beautiful setting. Close to this pool is the Yubarta, an oasis offering yoga and other relaxation techniques in a serene setting. The food was the best I have ever had in an all-inclusive resort. For the evening meals, not all of the restaurants were open but rotated, probably because the occupancy was low when we were there. There is a steak house where you can order special cuts for an additional price, but for us the steak included in the price was more than adequate. The Carey by the beach pool served breakfast and lunch with many familiar choices. In the evening it served Mediterranean and Japanese food which was delicious. By the upper pool was the Santa Yuca which had some delicious food and some unusual dishes that were a treat to try. The food here is described as a healthy option and was never boring. Be sure try it for lunch breakfast and dinner during your stay. The Senda was the Dominican restaurant which offered a tasting menu to illustrate the country. Very interesting and again delicious. There was also a special buffet one night which ha an amazing array of seafood, meats, salads, vegetables, breads and deserts. I have never seen such a spread, again a must to attend.. There was also a small coffee shop and snack bar near the main lobby. Honestly there were so many good choices at all places. Finally the staff. Everyone was so helpful, courteous and went out of their way to make the vacation perfect. It seems a shame to mention some of them as they were all so good, but some of the staff spoke a lot of English and we got to know them well. Jose at the beach bar always remembered our drinks, Maria, Yohanny, Miguelina, and Yulissa who did their best to teach us some Spanish, Ricky and Emlia who made us delicious drinks at the lobby bar, Guerys and Oliver who seemed to work at many of the restaurants and made our meals all the more enjoyable with there help with selection from the menus The ambassador always made contact everyday to tell us what was going on during the day and evening, and to make sure we had restaurant reservations and everything we needed. It was also a nice touch to meet some of the managers and the general manger who took the time to mingle with the guests and ask for comments on the resort. It was a pleasure to meet you all. So why is this a reluctant review. The reason is that this was our best Caribbean vacation ever. It was absolutely perfect and faultless, and I am selfish and don’t want to spoil it by encouraging a great many people to come here to make it busy, or any changes to be made. We were spoilt so much that we don’t want to share it with anyone else. Seriously I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone There are so many little touches and attention to detail that makes this place absolutely spectacular. If you are looking for loud music, foam parties, lots of games and activities then this isn’t the place for you. This is a quiet relaxing resort to unwind and be pampered which is what we were looking for. We usually go to four resorts during the winter months, but if I could only go to one this would be it

“Nice beach”

Very nice beach- local vendors, restuarants and bars- priced for tourists- I can see it could get very busy. The vendors are very persistant with selling items, will come directly to you on the beach. Some people have monkeys, parrots to take pictures with along with doing photoshoots. I didn't e... more

Very nice beach- local vendors, restuarants and bars- priced for tourists- I can see it could get very busy. The vendors are very persistant with selling items, will come directly to you on the beach. Some people have monkeys, parrots to take pictures with along with doing photoshoots. I didn't enjoy the constant asking, when I politely said no. Boats came in and anchored, it was a little much when someone had their music beyond loud for the entire beach.
