The room was great, bed was very comfortable. The only problem we faced was that we constantly have to call front desk for extra wash rags and towels because the house keeper keeps putting one of each in the bathroom and it was three of us in staying in the same room. Frank at the front desk was very nice to us and very professional at is work. Louise at the bar was great too as well and friendly. Our bar tender Nataly was the best we come across, a very beautiful and lovely young lady who have a great personality and a beautiful smile on her face she takes good care of us every time we go the bar, she also made us her special drink which was very tasty and refreshing ❤ 😊 tums up to you Nataly for making our vacation one to remember and Frank who always checks in to see if we were doing ok 👌 despite the language barrier they either get some one who speaks a little English or they used Google translate on the phones so we could understand each other. RIU Plaza Panama is the hotel to stay.

This is our 2nd time at the Riu Plaza Panama and I absolutely love it. I give it 4.5 stars only because the elevators do not have ac 😔 but that tends to be the trend here I see. The hotel lobby is elegant, everyone is so friendly, the breakfast buffet is massive, the pool area is decent, the bar area and steakhouse are good. The have a cafe that sells pastries, sandwiches, coffee etc, a small gift shop and restaurant/bar inside (atmosphere reminds you of Club Applebees iykyk). There is a car rental service area inside, if you are from the US, I would NOT advise you to drive in Panama City. If you’re driving further out, maybe. In the city, I saw maybe 2 lights. What is a yield or stop sign..I don’t know because no one adheres to it. Pedestrians are safer than other vehicles and yep you can cut across the gas station, pass the police and honk for them to move up out your way and guess what..no ticket, no traffic stop. Uber and cabs are your best friend, especially Uber. Riu is A1, go for the executive suites are up, you will not be disappointed.Aww and the BIDET ❤️..like Nike say-Just Do It.

“Good location hotel, friendly staff”

We liked the hotel and the breakfasts were great. The Spanish food restaurant was also great. The staff in general is very friendly. Nataly at the Sushi Bar did a great job and we enjoyed her company. James at the Spanish restaurant and the lovely young hostess were also very good at their job and we will remember them. My only negative comment is that some people seemed not to be trained enough, not knowing exactly how to do their job. The day we left I asked tor a wake-up call, which I didn't get; their answer was Sorry. Overall very good hotel.

The staff are so incredibly friendly and helpful and I was always greeted with a smile. Most all staff speaks English pretty well. The breakfast is included and that was nice to have. The restaurants on site had average tasting food, except the burger at the pool was very good. The room we originally were given was so heavily scented that it was impossible for me to stay, I simply couldn’t breathe. The staff were helpful in switching me to a room with no scent and that was greatly appreciated. I’m unsure if I would stay here again. I’m use to true 5 star hotels and the standard here is simply not that. As far as cleanliness I’d rate it a 6. Food taste, also a 6. Bed comfort also a 6 or 7. Pool a 7. Unfortunately the spa is not operational. If I would have known that I may not have booked here. They should say it is not operational as anything else is false advertisement.
