My wife and I chose Elixir Resort for our 5-night stay on Koh Yao Yai and we could not have made a better choice. The Deluxe Villa we booked was very nice and had all the amenities we could ask for, including a spacious outdoor shower and a terrace from which we could overlook the whole resort and the sea. Everything was well looked after and clean. The staff was very friendly and attentive, breakfast was delicious with lots of variety. We also enjoyed watching the sunset from Tiki Bar during happy hour. The highlight of the resort, however, is the natural beach. There are lots of trees under which you can put your sunbed, so there is no need for a parasol and the constant rearrangements of sunbeds to stay in the shade. The beach is cleaned every morning by a member of the staff who picks up fallen leaves etc. Swimming is only possible during high tide, so it's a good idea to check the tide table in advance. I would definitely recommend the resort to anyone looking for a quiet hideaway close to Phuket. There are also some good local restaurants in the vicinity if you want to have dinner outside the resort, as we did.

I reserved two beautiful sea-facing rooms with the resort but due to some personal crisis, I wasn't able to continue with the booking. The management was immensely kind and understanding with the entire cancellation process despite of the consequence it had on their future bookings. They were prompt with their response as well as professional with their behavior. The resort management also initiated a detailed personalized survey with me to understand service/product demands that customers can potentially have to help them perform even better. This additional detail really made me realize how sensitive and welcoming the staff is to their customer's needs. On the basis of their service and conduct alone, I would definitely recommend everyone to chose this resort for their next trip!

“A little piece of heaven!”

We spent 11 nights here at the end of our long winter getaway in Thailand and it was perfect! We had booked villa 203 with pool at the top of the resort as we were looking for complete privacy where we could just relax after a hectic few weeks in the company of other people. This was exactly what we got and it was wonderful. We are both in our 70s and have hip problems, so we were a little worried in case we had to make the long walk (for us!) up and down to the beach or the restaurant. No problem! All we had to do was pick up the in-room phone, dial 0, (or call in Reception after we'd had our evening meal) and a lovely driver in a golf-type buggy was outside the door in seconds. Our villa was surrounded by trees, and the view to the sea between them was something to behold. We loved that the pool was not in full sun all day - it was lovely to stand in a shady dappled corner and read a book or just listen to the sounds of nature. The only visitors we saw were monkeys! On a few occasions during our stay a troop of them (20+) made their way through the trees and jumped down to drink from our pool and check that we hadn't left any scraps of food on the outside table. Amazing. Evening cocktails down at the lovely little beach bar were fantastic, just sitting in comfy seats and watching the beautiful sunsets and the odd boat or yacht passing by. Dinner in the restaurant was always enjoyable, and there was a huge assortment at breakfast which could satisfy anyone's taste. One of the things we really appreciated was the excellent housekeeping. It's not often you stay in a hotel and the bed is changed every single day! It was absolute bliss to slide into cool clean sheets after a very hot day in the sun. Something else that we (and all the other guests) really, really enjoyed were the 3 resort dogs - Brownie, Zara and Peter. Thanks to the hotel's fantastic manager, Otara, these dogs have been blessed. I saw a photo of them when they first arrived and they were literally just skin and bone. Luckily, Otara is a dog lover and he took them under his wing. He feeds them morning and evening, buying chicken and dog biscuits from shops outside the hotel, and he makes sure they are happy and healthy. He even takes them in the sea on his day off and tries to teach them to swim, as salt water is good for their skin and relieves insect bites and sores. The dogs sleep under his house at the far side of the resort, but will venture out to find a guest who is happy to give them a belly rub or a kind word. Brownie has a jink in his tail, and Zara is white with a little grey. Both are very friendly. Peter looks like Brownie's twin but his tail is normal. He's the shy one, and although I tried hard he would never let me get close enough to stroke him. Apart from being a dog lover, Otara is a wonderful manager. He cares so deeply for his guests and will do anything to make them happy. We'll be going back to Thailand in November as usual, and I have a feeling that we'll be staying at Elixir again. “Lovely but basic.”

Lovely little resort in a quiet area. Not much to do if you’re with children but fine if all you want to do is read on the beach. Rooms are a little tired and the whole place could do with a revamp. Lovely little resort in a quiet area. Not much to do if you’re with children but fine if all you want to do is read on the beach. Rooms are a little tired and the whole place could do with a revamp. Staff really lovely and helpful. Restaurant was okay and bar location great. Could be an amazing resort but really needs some attention to details and work done on the gardens and pool area.
