We stayed at the Fairmont several years ago and wondered if the high standards would have been maintained. We need not have worried because staff at the hotel ensured that we had a terrific holiday. Our flight with Emirates was excellent and we were impressed with the meet and greet at the airport in Dubai. Our private transfer was waiting for us and we had a very pleasant journey to the hotel. Throughout our stay, staff were exceptionally helpful. We would particularly like to mention Caesar who made sure that our room was spotless and always seemed to time his cleaning while we were having breakfast. Breakfast in the buffet was excellent. Chefs made sure that food was regularly checked and topped up and servers were very quick to deliver tea or coffee. On three evenings we dined in Flow, where we found an extensive range of delicious food. Again, service was excellent. We chose to eat in Sea Grill on two occasions and were impressed by the quality of the food and the service. We chose Dubai to get some spring sun and we used the beach facilities every day. Beach staff were excellent and always on hand to help move umbrellas. We would thoroughly recommend the Fairmont and intend to return very soon.

“Great hotel even better staff.”

We loved our stay at this hotel only made better by the staff, especially Sajith and Godfrey. They both made such an effort with us all and made the stay extra special. The hotel should take care of these guys, they’re great. The concierge service is great to book restaurants for your stay as well. The only minus point from the hotel would be them selling day passes to the beach meaning guests can’t get on the beach on a weekend unless up and out by 9:30. It seems to be all about money which is a shame. Overall a great hotel though

We have recently returned from a 12 day stay at this hotel. Great place, ideally situated on the palm, on the West Beach where there are bars and restaurants to walk to day or night. Directly opposite the golden mile shopping area with a great running track behind it and a station for the monorail. You can easily walk to the Dubai Marina (if it’s not too hot) we did and onto the Blue Waters island area where the Dubai eye is. This is the second time we’ve tried to go on the eye but it’s not been working, such a shame!. All staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had an amazing room on the 7th floor looking out over the beach and beyond to the Dubai skyline, amazing day or night views! We celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary whilst there, the hotel decorated our room with ballon’s, toweling swans and rose petals on the bed and left a lovely Happy Anniversary cake too! A lovely surprise on our return from chilling on the beach. The buffet had plenty of choice, but it was the sane things every night, so you have to be careful not to have everything on one night! I highly recommend Little Miss India, Boldy Asian and the Sea Grill Bistro. We didn’t try Frevo as I’m not a big beef fan. The beach was clean and the sun loungers were comfy, the water dispenser on the beach was a great idea. I would highly recommend taking a thermos drinking bottle to keep your water nice and cold and you refill it for free all day, very handy as bottled water is expense everywhere. The only criticism is the beach bar next door played music from dawn to dusk. You couldn’t hear the words just a constant ‘dum dum dum’ of the musics beat. The beach is very busy Friday to Sunday, you do need to be on the ball to get a sun lounger on these days. We didn’t use the pools as they were very shaded with trees, there were separate adults and children’s pools, which was good as the children’s pool was very busy. The hotel was immaculate throughout, the staff do a great job of keeping up the standards. The concierges on the doors were very friendly and helpful. This is a great hotel I would highly recommend!

“Booked for 7 days ended up leaving after 4 hours.”

My wife and I booked the fairmont for a last minute weeks holiday in march, we have been to dubai 7 time previously and thought we would give the fairmont a go this time due to its location to the marina and the malls as staying on the outer cresant of the palm can add 20 minutes to your journey to any of these destinations. Upon arrival the hotel was ok, you can tell its one of the older hotels and it misses the little touches you get from some of the other hotels such as a cold towel and a welcome drink upon arrival, non the less we weren't going to judge a hotel based on this. Check in process was ok, I would say the carpet by the check in desks needs a good deep clean as it was quite stained. We were given an early check in which was greatly appreciated, we were shown to our room which was ok, nothing special, felt like a business hotel room. The pool area was incredibly busy at around 10:30 am only a couple of beds available and it was not as the pictures online suggest the pool area would be, ended up going to the beach which was fairly quiet but the beds were packed in together with the beach clubs either side playing fairly loud music so the chance of a relaxing time on the beach was non-existent. We were slightly confused as non of the other trip advisor reviews suggested this, I have a feeling I know why. It would appear at every opportunity the staff would hand out QR codes prompting guests to leave 5-star reviews on Trip Advisor. My wife and I decided to move hotels in the end as we were hoping for a quiet week and felt this wouldn't be achievable at the Fairmont. We did speak to the reception manager about getting a refund but we were advised it wasn't available because it was down to our personal preference which we understood. Overall, I would say the hotel is a 4* at best, staff were very pleasant but the photos are very misleading so be careful when booking.
