Overall, my stay in this hotel was considerably pleasant. I would recommend others to also try staying at this hotel – however with few notes. Things that pleased me: 1. The staffs are all commendably helpful. This is the strongest impression I got during my stay. Perhaps one of my best experiences with hotels’ staffs all my life. 2. The foods, especially certain menus from the One Deck Cafe, were satisfying. The breakfast was not bad, either. 3. My room was spacious and clean. 4. The price for a room that big and with considerably sufficient facilities was actually very competitive. 5. The water pressure in the bathroom and toilet was decent. 6. The bidet is comfortable. I would prefer to have a jet spray for the same purpose, but since the water pressure and the bidet were both decent, I'm okay. 7. The floor slope in the shower room is good, so water goes straight to the drainage. 8. Guest can contact both front office and room service using WhatsApp, so it's convenient. 9. I could pay cashless in my room for the room service, as the staff brought the EDC machine along with food I ordered. 10. They provide palm sugar on the coffee tray which guests can use when making coffee. You might think it’s too trivia to talk about, but for me it’s best to sweeten my coffee with palm sugar, and not all hotels provide it as part of rooms’ supplies, let alone providing it abundantly. 11. The room service offered various fresh fruit juice in 1 litre glass. For me, it's fantastic; never experienced/found such menu in my previous experience in any hotels. I ordered 1 litre apple juice two nights in a row. 12. The live music at the One Deck Cafe was decent and the band did play songs which were promotive of chilling and winding down. Things that could've been better: 1. there was not enough light inside the lifts. It was quite difficult just to try and see the floor number on the panel. 2. there is only one electric port on the bedside, and it's located under the bedside table. Another port is located near the working desk. It's not enough and it's not convenient. 3. the floor slope in the TOILET room is terrible, it doesn't make the drainage work well. 4. the hotel management might want to put more emphasis on maintenance aspect of the room facilities: • The telephone cable hung loose from the handset; it fell off every time I tried to make a call. A technician had to be called to change the cable. • I had to have the TV set changed twice because somehow it didn't respond to the TV remote control. • I had to have the toilet water tank fixed twice because the water kept leaking from the tank into the toilet bowl. • almost no water pressure in the sink tap 5. On my last day (Sat May 18), I went out at about 7 AM and I left the sign "please clean the room" on with the hope that my room would already be tidied up and clean when I return to the hotel in about 2 hours. I came back to the hotel to find the sign was still on and nobody had cleaned my room. 6. F&B: • The grilled chicken from the One Deck Cafe was quite dry and tough. • I would suggest the baker to make flourless cheesecake coz it wasn't creamy to my taste, and wasn't soft enough, either. • The Hokkien noodle was not so well-balanced in terms of savory/saltiness versus sweetness. Not enough of the latter to my taste • On my last day, I went to breakfast hall at 6.30-ish AM and no one attended the egg station. No beef sausages, either, which were available the day before. The staff who stood by at the hall informed me that for the day the sausages were replaced with potato wedges. I don’t think it’s a correct arrangement because potato wedges are not a substitute or an alternative for sausages. They complement each other, but don’t substitute. I hope my notes are detailed enough. Like I said, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, it was quite pleasant but certain things would have to be improved to ensure that I'd be delighted the next time I stay there again. I'm looking forward to repeating my staying at Artotel Ts Surabaya the next time I visit the city, hopefully with an overall improved experience.

1. the room lack of tissues, we need to ask for it 2. the AC definitely need maintenance because the room temperature didn’t that cold 3. the long sofa is dirty, it just covered by some thick sofa pillow 4. the coffee machine really needs cleaning
