We stayed for one week with our 25 year old son. He had his own room. The location of the hotel is excellent and very peaceful on a quiet street but close to the tube station and many desirable walking areas. The hotel is quaint and very welcoming and warm. Some of the rooms are small for two people and luggage but there are other more spacious rooms to choose from. Breakfast was included and it was very good! A selection of hot dishes such as omelettes as well as a buffet with fruit, yogurt etc. The service throughout the hotel is excellent! The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful at all times. They booked restaurants and helped us to buy tickets for a show and helped with directions etc. Huge shoutout to Graham (head concierge) who was a wealth of information and also Stephanie who worked at the front desk. I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again on my next visit to London.

I used to stay here often. The ambience of the bar a restaurant remains intimate and a lovely meeting place off St James. We arrived late at night and were shown to a suite with a terrible musty smell, wall paper bubbling on the wall next to the window and a very dirty carpet. I told the night manager that I could not stay in that room. I was given one next door that was somewhat cramped but in better shape. I would recommend that you make sure your room has been updated. Generally the front door man is excellent in getting transportation however after he left a porter suggested that we walk in the rain to the end of the street to get a cab. The restaurant staff was attentive and still running a lovely room. The shower in our room was unsafe as it was a step up marble shower with no scoring to prevent a fall. Be very specific about your room and what you expect. I suspect the club suffered during covid and is recovering. I haven’t written reviews in three years feeling we have all been through hard times. I always warn people that I write reviews. With that in mind , I don’t know how I could have been put in the first room. The management was very sorry and adjusted my bill however I’m still not sure that they understood that I am an affiliate member through another club.
