I feel the need to say this after reading some other people's reviews of Bluebeards; If you're thinking of visiting St. Thomas, you should be aware that the vibe isn't super friendly on this island. This is not Hawaii, folks. These people aren't exactly rude, but they aren't welcoming either. I did some research prior to our trip, so I was prepared for the locals. Their nasty attitudes did not surprise me & therefore i had a freakin' blast!! ** PRO TIP : When speaking to anyone on the island, before you say ANYTHING, always start with "good morning," "good afternoon," or "good night." it's their thing, i don't know why... but they seem to be a little nicer when you speak to them this way. For example, "Goodnight, could we have some more toilet paper and trash bags sent to our room, please?" it's weird, but it works. Anyway, moving on. Overall, Bluebeards was amazing. We stayed for 9 days in a penthouse suite down below the pool area, Room 400. It had a breathtaking view of Yaght Haven Grande. When we were in the room, most of our time was spent on our private balcony overlooking the beautiful Carribean. We had our own kitchen, a HUGE shower, our own washer and dryer which was super helpful as you can imagine, a dining area/living room & a big bedroom with a super comfy king sized bed. The penthouse felt very private, we never heard any noise from any other guests, never even seen any other guests unless we went up to the pool/bar area. We slept with the balcony doors open most nights, & the breeze was heavenly. Perfect weather all year round down there! 🥰 The nights are cool, and the days are hot. The pool was fun to hang at late at night. it's not very deep (4 feet) but swimming while looking at the stars was so lovely. There was also a hot tub, but we never got around to using it. The restaurant next to the pool was absolutely delicious. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE FIRECRACKER SHRIMP. Oh my goodness. We bought it almost every night 😂 we even offered to pay for the recipe. Unfortunately, we did not get the recipe 😂 I don't recommend the mixed drinks at the bar.... it didn't taste like there was any alcohol in them at all, and I didn't get a buzz whatsoever. we started buying our alcohol at Pueblos Supermarket and made our own mixed drinks. Pueblos had the best prices on liquor. Do NOT buy liquor at the liquor stores. The prices are ridiculous at the liquor stores. Always buy liquor at the grocery stores. Will we return to St. Thomas? probably not, yall. We loved Bluebeards! loved our room and the resort overall. However, the people on the island are kind of jerks, as i mentioned earlier (especially the women & taxi drivers). The taxis cost us a small fortune during our stay. Don't have high expectations for customer service on this island, and you'll have a wonderful time. We came for the beaches and to get away from the crowds ⛱️ LINDQUIST did not disappoint!! Magens Bay was crowded and over-rated. Would not recommend Magens. Lindquist was nearly empty and had the most beautiful, clear waters, BY FAR! If you visit St. Thomas definitely check out Lindquist. if I could change anything about our trip, it would have been for us to rent a car and not rely on taxis to get around. That was the worst part. We could have saved a bunch of money and avoided a lot of the rude locals had we rented a car... hindsight is 20/20. I'm still happy to have had the experience! The island itself is beautiful, and the penthouse was an absolute DREAM. i had a fabulous & much needed vacation with my husband while our kids stayed with grandma. FIVE STARS!
