Nathalie and Gerard were perfect hosts. Their place is incredibly gorgeous. We used their place as our home base— we rented a car and visited several small villages over a few days. N+G gave us great recommendations and their advice was invaluable. The views were second only to the breakfast that was prepared for us each morning. We were the only guests for the week so we had our hosts full attention and we had great conversation. We will remember it always! It is also clear that N+G are very well travelled and have excellent taste. This is important to me when a place is described as “luxury” as sometimes it can be deceiving when in Europe. I would recommend villa Kilauea to the most discerning travelers. Happy to report this place lived up to all the reviews I read and in fact exceeded my expectations in many ways! We had a fantastic stay in this B &B. The rooms were beautifully decorated with air condition+ WiFi and we slept really well in very comfortable beds. Delicious breakfasts were served every morning on the terrace by Nathalie who was a very attentive and charming host. The view was spectacular and it was only a 15 min drive to Nice from there. Both Nathalie and her husband Gerard spoke very good English and were able to recommend some very good restaurants in the neighbourhood. The swimming pool was kept very clean and there was an open kitchen area where you could store food/drinks in the fridge and use cutlery and plates. Good attention was kept using sanitiser spray to avoid any spread of infection. We would recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxing stay in a beautiful part of Nice.

My fiancee and I stayed at Villa Kileauea for 7 nights. Our room (with en-suite bathroom) was spacious and stylishly fitted. Room was accessed via private terras with a sitting area. The room was cleaned every day, and towels changed every other day. At the back of the villa, there was a beautiful pool area with a stunning view of the valley. Nathalie and Gérard were fantastic hosts, always ready to help. The only thing I would like to mention is the villa is on a quite remote location. We were commuting with a car, so for us, that was not the issue. But still, be prepared for 20+min commute to the beach. There are enough parking spaces in the compound. Moreover, our hosts went even a step further and provided us a charging plug for our electric car. The only downside I can think of was the breakfast. It was a bit monotone (every day the same) even though always freshly prepared.

My husband and I spent 11 nights at this beautiful villa and enjoyed every moment. Coming from Australia and driving on the opposite side of the road, we did find the 9km drive from downtown Nice on narrow, windy and steep roads to get to the property somewhat scary and stressful however, it was worth it when we got there. Nathalie and Gerard are terrific hosts. On arrival, Nathalie sat with us and provided a welcome drink and gave an overview of the area and recommendations for restaurants. We took her advice and tried a local restaurant at Colomars, only 2.2km from the property and the food was excellent. We enjoyed it so much we returned on a second occasion. We stayed in the Rose Room and believe we had the best room by far. The jasmine bush that surrounds the room was in full bloom and the fragrance was divine. Our room was spacious and comfortable and many a night we sat on our balcony indulging in local cheeses, meats and wine and enjoyed the amazing view over the valley. The breakfasts Nathalie provided was a highlight of the day. She is an excellent cook and she prepared something different every morning of our 11 night stay. Nathalie bakes pastries, brioche and peach cake every morning plus a sweet starter of some sort. One morning we had warm fruit crumble, another morning warm bread and butter pudding plus an array of gorgeous French desserts. An assortment of cereals and fresh fruits were also provided, plus soft boiled eggs, cheeses, meats and fresh baguettes and of course, tea, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. During breakfast, Nathalie would ask what we had planned for the day and would then provide us with a local map and suggested the best roads to take and gave restaurant recommendations. We are very much 'dog people' and enjoyed their 13-year old dog Bree frequently visiting us on the terrace over breakfast. Bree's presence made our stay feel very much like home. As the property is small, with only four rooms, it was easy to get to know the other guests, especially over breakfast. It was always interesting to hear where other travellers had been and listen to their recommendations of places to visit, which were often originally referred to by Nathalie. At the end of each day, we always took advantage of the spa / Jacuzzi. It was a pleasant way to unwind after driving on busy, narrow roads. We always commented that we could never tire of the view of the valley and the local winery, which is an impressive white stone building that was originally a church built in 1870. The villa is located in a quiet area and the serenity, apart from the sound of birds tweeting each night when roosting and the croaking of frogs once the sun went down, added to the charm of this delightful property. Gerard has a great understanding of the area and was happy to answer any questions and impart his history knowledge. Both he and Nathalie were always very willing to help to ensure our stay was enjoyable. If we return to Nice again, we would not hesitate to return to Villa Kilauea and create many more wonderful memories.
