As a family of 3 we had a fantastic stay at Sentido Amounda. I think to start with it needs to be stated this hotel will only suit if you want a relaxing holiday. There are no daytime activities by the pool and limited entertainment which suited us fine. The hotel is clean and tidy. There are 2 pools , one with bridges on etc with more of a family atmosphere and a long rectangular pool which was deeper and seemed to suit mostly adults. Both pools had bars open all day with a good selection of drinks. The waffles at the family pool were superb. There was also a fantastic snack bar open from 11am to 5pm serving salads, burgers, gryos, chips, pizzas etc. The main restaurant was very nice ( I would worry that in peak season it may be packed ) and serviced fantastic food. I would argue the food was as good as I have had at this standard of hotel. I have had bigger choices but everything was cooked well. Yannis the restaurant manager was a nice guy and seemed to run the restaurant area as a very tight ship. The main lobby was a nice bar. Levente the barman was friendly and served reasonable all inclusive cocktails although we enjoyed a few off menu cocktails at our own cost which we did not mind. All the staff here are very friendly. In fact, these staff made our trip. From reception, to bar areas, we found everyone more than helpful. We upgraded to a swim up room which we did not really take full advantage of but was nice to use on occasion. The hotel is only 15 minutes from the airport which makes transfers etc really easy and quick. The other advantage is that the flight path to the airport is the other side so you are close to the airport but hear no planes at all. About a 10 minute walk from the hotel is a section of beach owned by the hotel. We only visited once. I thought the beach was fine, but a few sunloungers had seen better days. All in all, a lovely stay and I certainly would think about visiting again.

Just returned from a 5 night half-term stay here and we'd highly recommend. Lots of things make this hotel special but, above all, it's the staff. It's the first time we've ever stayed in any hotel around the world where absolutely everyone was fantastic. It all started when we arrived late at night and the fantastic lady on reception got us quickly into the dining area before we took the time to check in. And then we were surprised with an upgraded room with a pool which our son loved. This is a hotel first and foremost about relaxing. It's got two good pool areas and plenty of sun beds. Both have bars and there's a great snack area as well. A real bonus is that the hotel also has its own beach area just a 5 minute walk away. It was nice to spend time there and it had a bar as well. All meals were tasty and there were plenty of choices. The chocolate waffles were a highlight for me. The cap off the great stay, the hotel let us keep out room into the afternoon on our last day at no extra charge as we had a late flight. Thank you, Amounda Bay, for such a special and relaxing stay.

“Really really nice hotel and setting.”

This was our first trip to any Greek island, and what a jackpot hit it was. Great food lovely tranquil pool areas a perfect relaxing week. This was our first trip to any Greek island, and what a jackpot hit it was. Great food lovely tranquil pool areas a perfect relaxing week. The bar maid at the lower pool bar made a lovely effort to make us feel at home and always chatty. The reception we couldn’t ask for more and even kept our room as we had a late departure. Restaurant and snack bar covered our needs very well and the waffles made at the pool bar were an immense hit with our son. All staff were superb. Beach bar was a nice escape too. Very mixed nationality make up in the clientele which was refreshing and the entertainment was low key in the evenings but very enjoyable. I would return no doubt

Just got home from a week all inclusive. Staff at the hotel were all extremely helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was very tasty. They did not have an overwhelming amount of choice which most all inclusive hotels have which made it easier to choose, but the food they had was tasty and had plenty of flavour. Al la Carte was brilliant. Lovely food, great staff and nice ambience. Choice of pools was good, fresh water so bit chilly, so had to just get in and then it was fine. Sunbeds were easy to get everyday and so comfortable. The private section of beach was a short walk from the hotel with bar and snacks and plenty of sunbeds. We had upgraded to one of the rooms with shared pool which was lovely. My only one ask, would have been more drawn space for clothes, but that was a minor when only there for a week. But could have been more difficult to store clothes for 3 of us for two weeks. Great location, just a 5 mins walk to Shops, bars and restaurants and bus stop right in front of the hotel where you could get a bus into Heraklion centre.
