I stayed at Rocabella Mykonos Hotel in mid-April with a group of seven women, each of us in separate rooms. Visiting during shoulder season definitely shaped the experience, but what stood out most was the level of care and personality from the team on property. Location Set high above the coastline, the hotel offers breathtaking panoramic views that are hard to beat. The tradeoff is exposure to the elements. In April, the wind and cooler temperatures are very noticeable. Getting into town requires a drive, but the hotel staff, especially Nikos, made that seamless by frequently shuttling us. Atmosphere The overall vibe is calm, romantic, and relaxed. It feels much more suited for couples or adults looking for a quiet escape. I would not recommend this property for families with young children. There are a lot of stairs, sharp edges, and steep walkways that make it feel less child-friendly and not particularly safe for kids. Rooms The rooms are modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed. Comfortable beds, consistent hot water, and a welcome bottle of wine made for a great first impression. Everything felt well considered from a design standpoint. Value The experience is very much driven by the service. While there are a few areas that could be elevated for the price point, the level of attention and care from the staff, especially Nikos and Fay, adds significant value to the stay. Cleanliness The property itself was well maintained and clean throughout. One note is that my room was not serviced during my stay. While someone checked in about turndown service on the first night, it was never actually completed afterward, which felt like a miss. Noise Level Very quiet. I never heard other guests or outside noise from my room, which made it easy to fully relax and disconnect. Service This is where the hotel truly shines. Nikos was the standout and honestly the highlight of the entire trip. He was present from morning to night, always making sure we had what we needed and going above and beyond to enhance our experience. He drove us into Little Venice Mykonos multiple times, giving us the chance to explore one of the most beautiful parts of the island with its waterfront views, boats, and restaurants. We also spent time at BAOS Mykonos, which had a great local energy, especially during the quieter season. Fay was equally warm and welcoming, making us feel genuinely cared for. The entire team was kind, helpful, and proud to share their backgrounds, which made the experience feel personal. Amenities The spa is small but enjoyable. I had a treatment that leaned more toward a body scrub with a head and neck massage. It was slightly shorter than expected but still relaxing. Since the pool was not usable due to weather, the hotel opened the jacuzzi for us at no extra cost, which was a thoughtful gesture. Breakfast offered a solid variety including eggs, meats, cheeses, breads, yogurt, granola, pancakes, and sausages. For this level of hotel, there is room to elevate the coffee and a few breakfast items, but it was still a good start to the day. The bar experience was a highlight, with Nikos also leading there, sharing his knowledge of Greek spirits and creating a fun, engaging environment. Overall Even with the seasonal limitations, this stay was defined by the people. If you are visiting Mykonos in the off-season and understand what comes with that, Rocabella offers a beautiful setting and a team that truly makes you feel taken care of.
