My husband and I have spent the last five days at Anseli, a wonderful hotel. At first, we were a little disappointed when, due to a lack of availability, there was no room for us upon our arrival and we had to stay elsewhere for the first night. However, the kindness and the way they immediately looked after us truly touched us. They offered us complimentary air conditioning and two breakfasts as a gesture of goodwill, and from that moment on, our stay was truly exceptional. The hotel deserves more stars than it currently has. What truly makes it special are the people who work there. The care, kindness, and hospitality they showed us were extraordinary and will remain in our memories forever. Every meal we had in the restaurant was a genuine pleasure. The gemista (stuffed vegetables) have now become my favourite Greek dish, while the breakfasts gave us the best possible start to every day of our holiday. Our room was comfortable, beautiful, and the perfect base from which to explore this wonderful part of the world. The pool was small but adequate and very quiet which I loved, always a subbed should we require one. The bar manager was exceptionally friendly, funny and attentive on an evening and on the first night, even though we had to move to a separate place, we were warmly invited to stay until close (1.30pm) and the night porter was available when we were really to happily ,and without complaint take us to a place very near by and we returned to Anseli the following morning. Anseli have created for us a little corner of paradise after a difficult time and in reach of a much needed break. We met wonderful guests who have been returning for many years and although it is not a place for families seeking a package holiday, it was perfect for a couple seeking a beautiful place to rest. Kremasti is a quiet place, with the neighbouring area still in construction, but, with a short walk to the stunning coast (take beach shoes because it’s pebbly but the views make up for that) and a just few restaurants within a 10 minute walk, more of you get in a taxi or like a longer stroll you can be very happy and enjoy different cuisine. This is a place which is not your usual holiday spot. There is not a bustling nightlife unless you want to travel further, but what you will get is tranquility, peace and the most friendly people you’ve ever met. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything. We are truly sorry that the time has come to leave. The previous reviews mention dated rooms- they are not the Hilton and yes, they could do with some updating if you require that kind of things but ours had a small kitchen with a fridge and a hob, utensils and a sink. It had a bathroom with a shower and my fave, a shelf in the shower to put my toiletries on. They were cleaned daily and to a good standard. Another moan in the reviews was about the planes. Yes, it’s on the flight path, but we knew that before we stayed and the planes are close and loudish but not a problem for us. The stay all in all hit everything we needed, a friendly hotel, a comfortable room, food and a quiet pool, a great base. We wish the whole family and every member of the staff good health, happiness, and every success in the future.
