“A beautiful family stay!”

Have had a lovely week at the villa. Love the location- quiet but close enough to walk down and enjoy some great food and drinks when we wanted to. The staff are exceptional- so friendly and accommodating. My son loved the pool and the extra room to move was appreciated. We will return!

“Almost 4 Starts...and yet”

We have just had a lovely nine day stay at Maya Loka. A very good villa and excellent pool – the cleanliness and maintenance is first class. The breakfasts provided were good, and substantial. Personally, we would have preferred the breadbasket as part of the service, as an option to the additional fruit. The internet is good. It is well located. A 7 minute stroll to the beach and 5 minutes to the busy shops. Despite a lot of new construction in the street, it was quiet and away from the crowds. Close by are good local warungs and there is always GoJet to get meals delivered. The staff will readily supply additional crockery and cutlery as needed for meals brought in. In Bali, we almost always stay in villas with private pools. So why not 5 stars here? It could be… with a few changes. 1. The toilet is in clear view of the bedroom. Not good...so the blinds on that side of the bedroom were permanently closed, to maintain a level of privacy for those using the toilet. (Why wasn’t the toilet switched with the shower in the original plans?) 2. In the shower, their is no place for the soap to be stored. The shampoo and soap containers were left on the bath, which meant walking over to them over a slippery floor. So we left towels on the floor to prevent falls. With heavy rain that we experienced, the entrance to the bathroom from the bedroom became very slippery. More towels put on the floor for safety. 3. We asked that our room be cleaned after breakfast – we enjoyed a late breakfast at 9.30am daily. One day, despite contacting reception, the room wasn’t cleaned until 6pm. Most days it mid/late afternoon. We rang reception, but nothing changed. We did, however, share our leftover breakfasts with the local birds and squirrels. Most entertaining. Who needs National Geographic? And yet, the service was always friendly and thorough. 4. There were no ties to the bathroom robes supplied. It was not a good look with this 70 year old male... Despite these comments, we would happily recommend Maya Loka.

“LOVELY PRIVATE HIDEAWAY”

There is much to love about these villas. Beautifully presented, private swimming pool and outstanding service from the delightful and professional staff. Just maybe fix a couple of small things, like the TV to provide all channels including CNN and BBC for example. They need more cupboard space … more

There is much to love about these villas. Beautifully presented, private swimming pool and outstanding service from the delightful and professional staff. Just maybe fix a couple of small things, like the TV to provide all channels including CNN and BBC for example. They need more cupboard space and somewhere in the shower to put your shampoo, etc. Apart from these small points everything was lovely. Thank you team for making us feel special

“Great stay 2 years ago, not so great this time.”

We visited Mayaloka for the 2nd time. We first visited in 2022 and then visited again in October 2024. Our first visit to Mayaloka in 2022 was amazing, it was so peaceful, relaxing, quiet and the staff were excellent. This is why we booked again for 2024. We visited Mayaloka for the 2nd time. We first visited in 2022 and then visited again in October 2024. Our first visit to Mayaloka in 2022 was amazing, it was so peaceful, relaxing, quiet and the staff were excellent. This is why we booked again for 2024. Our stay this year was quite the opposite of our first stay. The staff were still amazing and very polite. We stayed in Villa 1 which was right next to reception. It was extremely noisy all night, we could hear Balinese people talking and laughing all night long, then there were street dogs barking all night long, we could hear traffic all night long and then we could hear the reception phone ringing from 5am. We told the staff after the first night that it was really loud and that we slept terribly, we asked if we could possibly move villas. We were told that it wasn't possible. We thought we would persist and get used to the noise, but we didn't. It really was disappointing as it was the one week that we have a break from our children and can try to enjoy some sleep, but the sleep was very minimal and very disruptive. The room was quite run down as well with chips out of furniture, mould in the bathroom, bathroom jets coming out of the bath, mould on the sun lounges, doors were very heavy and hard to open. We were hoping to have the same experience as our first time at mayaloka, but unfortunately it was an opposite experience.
