“Belated birthday visit ”

We had a wonderful stay at villa sanook. We booked this pre covid and were finally glad to be able to use it. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I can highly recommend the breakfast. It's a great location close to shops and everything. Love the outdoor bathrooms.

Loved this place, just like the photos, except the pics dont show the bathrooms which are just outrageously good. Loved this place, just like the photos, except the pics dont show the bathrooms which are just outrageously good. The beds are super comfy (we are looking at buying the same mattress!) and everyone had the best nights sleeps for a long time. the kitchen and main room is great, good size but we were mostly outside by the pool. the courtyard is great, comfy lounges and a magnificent day bed. The pool itself was great also, ever day or so the pool guy comes and chucks in some chlorine so you need to be aware of that. We mixed it in (just swam around a bit till it dissolved) and an hour later the PH is back in balance and there is no issue with opening your eyes underwater. Beware that the deck around the outdoor shower and pool can get slippery.. The wifi is great, the TV also good and there is a BlueTooth speaker thats good (but we brought our own) The tap water is treated/filtered from the taps you would expect so no issues brushing teeth and showering and cooking and ice from the fridge ice machine. plus they have like a water cooler using bottled water as well. The location is good, its down a longish lane, (2min walk to the street) but the taxis drive you to the door and even though its not that well lit we or even the girls on their own never felt unsafe. At the top of the lane there is a circle K (seven 11) which sells just about anything (inc beers) if you need it at short notice and about 100m on the right is Kendi which is a bar restaurant run by Anne Marrie (expat Melbourne lady) her and her staff are great, beers and cocktails are good cold and cheap, the food is the same (not cold though), banana split a special favorite as a last stop on the way home. a bit further on to the right and around corner is a coffee place which is great (and we're from melbourne!) Coop or something like that but you cant miss it. We had a breakfast included at the villa which was brilliant, Hafi and Oki were great, came in and cooked up breakfast and cleaned the place, they were a perfect balance of being there and helpful without being intrusive, they couldnt do enough to help us and always happy and friendly. We also booked the chef for a special meal (anniversary) cooked in the villa for the 6 of us and it was incredible. well worth it even if there isnt a special occasion!! Nanung was the driver that picked us up from the airport and he is great, he has some larger and smaller car options and is basically 1/2 day or full day rate, He is very helpful knowledgeable and great to deal with, we used him on some day trips to the volcano and the Garuda statue but used the Blue Bird Taxis for the smaller trips (getting to and from restaurants mostly) Blue Bird has an app and its a ripper, easy to use and has price guides on it before you book and the fare is metered so you dont have to barter over a $3Aud cab ride!! Masashi was great to deal with when booking and Tuhu the manager was great once we were there, not at all in your face but easy to like and only a whatsapp message away to solve any issue that might arise. We did a local fishing trip with Tuhu, which was great fun, not big fish but plenty of them and lots of laughs inc having lunch and smokes delivered to us out on the water.. There are some girls/ladies who do massages in the villa. they were great, very reasonable prices and just great. we left their card in the villa.. We had a meal at the Potato Head Kaum restaurant which was exceptional (did the banquet option!) Would we go back = in a heartbeat What would we do differently = Book the fishing further ahead, have at least 2 meals by the in house chef. Highlights = sunsets on the beach, the Lewak coffee plantation (and tea coffee tasting), Fishing, massages in the villa, the food, the daybed, pool ans just about everything else.
