First of all notice that this place was, up to a couple of years ago, a holiday resort with entertainment, nightclubs etc, while now it is a B&B. Since you can still find plenty of reviews for the time when it was a resort, try not to get confused. Also notice that we were here at the end of June, just before the official "high season" started. Going there from half July to the end of August will probably mean to find it a lot more crowded and noisy than what we experienced. The B&B is on the hill over Squillace Lido, a very small village without a lot of attraction (if you do not count the beaches and the sea), and you definitively need a car to arrive there. The rooms are small and simple, but they are also clean and have just about everything you need to enjoy your holiday. When we were there the whole place was almost deserted, a huge bonus if you ask me, since that meant to have the swimming pool just for us most of the time, very quiet breakfasts and no noise in the evening. The B&B have some agreement with a few restaurants and seaside resorts around, but we found that asking for advice to the owner was a better strategy. The best feature of this B&B is probably the view on the gulf. On a summer evening I could spend hours just staring at it from the side of the pool or from the balcony of the room (assuming you are lucky enough to have a room oriented in the right direction). All in all this place has a good value for money. Just a pity that its past as a holiday resort shows in the form of closed a restaurant, a closed pub, a closed amphitheatre etc. But if you don't mind, then it is really a nice place where to have a relaxing holiday.
