We found that our experience at the Hotel Airone pietrasanta was wonderful. The description that the hotel was family run this was true & they made the guests feel that they were part of the family. I can not speak for the other guests who probably like myself thought that the food was wonderful. Probably the only minor points that the room did not have enough electrical power points or tea / coffee making facilities. We had a tour guid called Elena, she was wonderful hopefully if we go on holiday again next year, it would be lovely to have her as our guid again.

Hello Folks! After reading the reviews about this hotel I thought it's about time I corrected some of the misrepresentations about this hotel. Are you all sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin! 1. The hotel is in stunning Marina di Pietrasanta. A pleasurable stroll to the beach (5 minutes) where you can hire sunbeds, umbrella's and enjoy the sea air. 2. The small town is only a 10 minute walk away. Like all Italian towns it has a piazza, local shops, a small supermarket and a select few bars. Bearing in mind the seaside town does respect "siesta" hours between 13:00 - 16:30, everything shuts! 3. Now the hotel..The Airone is a family run hotel, expertly run buy Maurizio, his wife Simona and their daughter when she's not at Uni. There's a lovely patio where you can enjoy an aperitivo before dinner (I recommend the limoncello spritz), with an overhang protecting you from the sun and God forbid the rain! 4. There's also a seating area inside the hotel itself very near the bar which is run by Maurizio. The hotel restaurant is where breakfast and dinner is served to you. Breakfast consists of continental style, brioche, fette biscottate, butter, preserves, some fruit, yogurt etc. Coffee (freshly made to order), tea, juices are available also for your pleasure. Bare in mind that Italians aren't huge on breakfast this seems ample to keep you until lunch. Lunch and dinner are themsin events in Italy. For the whingers and the whiners (mostly the Brits) yes the breafast offering is the same every morning but you don't have to have the same thing over and over!! 5. Let's address thd bread issue and food in general, the bread if freshly baked in the early hours of the morning and is delivered to the hotel FRESHLY BAKED. The bread isn't stale or dried out but is baked without salt and other preservatives, Tuscan bread is baked in a different way which makes it unique. Although The Airone hotel is classified B/B during the months of July and August, from April, May, June, September and October it does offer a half board basis for it's guests. The food is cooked in the hotels kitchen by a qualified chef and is fresh. It's not been brought in from another establishment nor ordered in. Dinner is served at 19:30 every evening, by 3/4 members of staff. It's true that they politely ask you to choose from a menu you'll find on your tables in the morning. The hotel also like you to sit at the same tables for breakfast and dinner. 5. The rooms..Yes the rooms are basic but very clean, towels get refreshed daily, and beds are changed during your stay. Remember that this hotel is only a small one and not part of an international chain. If you are wanting luxury, a huge impersonal hotel like a Holiday Inn, Marriott, Sheraton this hotel is not for you. However if you prefer small, friendly and family run, this hotel is for you. Travel experiences broaden the mind, travel with realistic expectations and enjoy! Ohh and for the whingers out there..tut tut, shame in you!

We had a very enjoyable weeks stay here as part of a Mistral Holiday's Italian Riviera Tour. The hotel is owned and run by a lovely Italian husband and wife called Maurizio and Simona and they employ other family members who are always welcoming and helpful at meal times. The restaurant, bar area, and outside covered terrace have a good ambiance and there is always someone in reception to look after your needs. The meal arrangements meant everyone ate at 7.30pm having pre-booked their food choice, generally from a choice of two, the night before. My wife is vegetarian and they were happy to provide alternatives for her and anyone else with special requirements. It was our wedding anniversary on the second night and they very kindly gave us a complimentary bottle of bubbly. We found everywhere very clean and well maintained and there is a lift for those unable to climb stairs. Our bedroom was clean and considering this is a three star hotel provided everything we needed including a large double bed, balcony, air conditioning, a safe and extra bedding if needed. The bathroom was small but adequate and included a bidet. The hotel is about 5 minutes on foot from the beach and 10 minutes from the town. In summary I think it offers a lot as a budget hotel and I would stay here again.
