3 Planes and a boat to get here was well worth it, the certificates for crossing the equator are a nice touch. The island itself is fabulously natural including sea grass which is home to many small fish and also feeds the turtles - too many resorts rip it all out. Perfect place to put the phone in the safe and go digital free and just relax. The staff absolutely made our holiday and have to make a shout out to Darwa and Amber at the Doorea Bar, Htin and Aaron at the Keymaa restaurant, all the buggy boys that ran us all over the place as I had an injured leg and helped us to find out the name of a tree that we were fasinated by. Viraj who kept the room clean and Millie from guest services who took us on a private island tour. All other staff were cheerful, smiling and welcoming. The whole team are great asset to the island. Our favourite place was the Spa and a special thanks to Esther for taking such good care of my bad leg. Looking forwards to returning next year when we are hoping to find Fresh Iced Tea on the all-inclusive menu not just in reception. The pasta and curry dishes we got to sample on our last evening meal and prior to departure were fabulous and looking forwards to having them again.

We have just returned from a wonderful 8 day stay at the beautiful Maldives Canareef resort. Whilst we loved the diving and snorkelling, what really stood out was the outstanding care from the Canareef team. The manager Deepak was attentive and clearly really cared that we had a great time. He organised a delicious Indian meal we had near the beach for our wedding anniversary, skilfully prepared by Chef Ashish which we will never forget. All the servers were pleasant and helpful and amongst them was the lovely Htin, who always had a smile, and pleasant Rahul. We have to mention the amazing reception team including the outstanding Millie & Jasmin who took care of our 8 year old daughter whilst we dived and made her feel so part of the team that she didn’t want to leave! Thank you to the great diving team Peter, Charly, Esther, Maren and Daniel who took us on such memorable dives. A special thank you to Peter for so artfully and patiently instructing our nearly 15 year old for her advanced diving qualification. The diving sites were varied and stunning, with a huge variety of sea life from tiger sharks to mantas! The house reef is on one end of this very long island near Bar-kuda beach bar - this was was also beautiful and full of fish (we also spotted some turtles!) but stayed quite shallow which was good for young children as they can easily stand near the coral blocks but there is no drop off within swimming distance, so less larger things to see. Couple this care with the most comfortable room and we were blissfully happy! A huge thank you to the Canareef team for a stay we will never forget…

Great location with original tropical flora. Great atmosphere with professional and friendly staff. Good sized rooms but would recommend putting a cover/roof on wash rooms to stop mosquitoes, lizards and flies coming into the the rooms. Shower facilities do not cater for disabled users as there are no aids to hold onto. Good value for money given the great location and expenses related to running the hotel. House keeping do a great job indeed by checking the rooms and cleaning them twice a day. The rooms are all individual units so there is no risk of noise from neighbours. The service in general is exceptional. The staff will go the extra mile to assist guests. Recommendations: Reduce reliance on hydrocarbons for electricity generation by installing solar farms and wind farms. The windmills could be installed along the coast rather than in the ocean to reduce cost. Look at harvesting rain water more rather than relying on desalination from sea water. Look at drilling boreholes to obtain fresh water. Installing solar panels on individual units and on the restaurants and bars could make the whole island off grid and stop completing on relying on diesel from the volatile Middle East.
