The hotel property is beautiful and well taken care of. We visited during slow season, so the restaurant, the cenote, spa and gym areas were all very quiet. We swam in the cenote every single day of our stay. Please be mindful to use the sunscreen and bug repellent that they provide. We spent a healthy amount of money on mezcalitas and beers at their bar and also ate at the restaurant every single day. Victor was a great server. Rosi and Elda helped us with a couples massage where they treated our sunburns-- they were great. The hotel is about 10 minutes walking distance from a GoMart where you can buy water, snacks and bottles of alcohol or cases of beer for a much more reasonable price and a farmacia within 5 minutes walking distance. There are also other restaurants within walking distance if you want to venture out a little bit. We also took the bikes out, which are included in the stay for hotel guests, and drove up to grab matcha lattes and smoothies one morning. The bikes are nice if you want to explore the hotel zone road (I wouldn't take the bikes out any further than the main road that the hotel is on) The hotel room has a mini bar area that was full of overpriced drinks. We decided that we were already spending so much money between the spa, the bar and the restaurant everyday- we could get our other needs at the GoMart and the pharmacy. As we were checking out, we were informing the front desk staff that we were so pleased with our stay that we were considering staying again within the next 6 months. As you're checking out, they ask if anything has been used from the minibar. We honestly answered them "No" because we got our needs from the GoMart- the hotel staff saw us every single day with our blue GoMart bag. We were waiting for our taxi driver when a man comes out with a small bottle of wine, claiming the seal had been broken and comparing it against another bottle of the same wine that had a closed seal. We had 4 people then looking at us with the "pay up" face. They claimed that WE opened this bottle, but the bottle wasn't even drunk from. We are friendly people, so we just paid for it to not cause any problems. Since we paid for it, we figure, let's taste it. It was the worst alcoholic drink we've ever tasted in our life, and this is not because we don't drink wine on occasion. It was genuinely the worst tasting drink we've ever had. We were so shocked by this, because we never EVER touched anything in the mini bar, and wine isn't even our drink of choice!! We went to Mexico to drink tequila and beer. We explained to them we didn't even drink wine and never touched this botte. This felt like just another tactic to squeeze out one last $50 out of us and really left us with a change of heart on returning to the hotel when we take our next vacation in January.
