This is an unusual hotel which lives up to its name. It is bohemian, pink and very relaxed. You enter on a side street through a gated door next to a cafe (more about that later). Climb a flight of stairs to a large tiled courtyard with outdoor seating, then up another set of stairs to a tiny reception desk. The staff there are friendly and speak brilliant English. My room was compact with a glass-walled (partly frosted) bathroom taking up almost a third of the space. This appears to have been recently renovated and they clearly are enthusiastic about their shower equipment as this had a very modern shower unit which could spray water from numerous directions. It was a bit tight with a tiny amount of clearance between the glass shower cubical and the toilet, which meant water spilt out onto the toilet and floor. There was a floor drain here but this wasn't a wet room really. There is no door on the bathroom/toilet which is a little strange and although fine if you are using the room alone, if you are a couple, listening to and seeing the other person use the facilities, may not be everyone's cup of tea!! Although there is air conditioning, There is no storage and very little furniture except for a clean and comfortable bed (and two painted crates acting as bedside tables). There is a hook on the wall which had a couple of coat hangers on it. I was there for 5 nights so couldn't really unpack. Perhaps this is a much shorter stay hotel. I did ask for extra coat hangers and that wasn't a problem. They seemed a little surprised about this request and took hangers from other rooms and a storage cupboard. Breakfast is served downstairs in the café near the entrance stairs. They clearly don't have space in the actual hotel. Really good coffee and a nice selection of meats, cheeses, fruit, yoghurt, cereals and cake ( the cake appears to be a very Portuguese breakfast tradition). Breakfast didn't happen one day. There were 5 of us waiting on the pavement outside the café but it remained closed - we waited around 45 mins and then had to leave. I mentioned it to the reception person that evening and they seemed surprised to hear about the problem. They apologised for the inconvenience but…. Perhaps this is just the bohemian way? The hotel is located close to the main railway station and around 25 mins walk into the centre of Aveiro, so convenient for transport and city attractions. This is not a full-service hotel with few facilities and minimal furniture so, if that works for you, and you like doorless glass bathrooms, then you should certainly try it when you visit this elegant and engaging city.

My husband and I have been going to the Bohemian place because It have been centrally located in Aveiro and also because the price was relatively good priced! The room was nice, also very Portuguese with the wooden floor and the tiles on the floor that where very colourful. Breakfast was nice, its served under the Bohemian place in an cafe that is abject towards the venue. I would recommend this place when its good priced, though I would also say at the same time the rain shower that is installed is not entirely spill-free as there is no shower curtain as well the place itself have an beautiful terrace in Bauhaus style but it actually is not utilised that way as there is no service. This place have lots of potential, its only on the owner to do more about it. Also, If you are an bohemian place; where are the bikes? I dont know if this is just my association, but i really missed that one (or proper informaiton about the free bikes of Aveiro city council )
