The climate in Madeira is subtropical, with warm winds and ocean currents giving pleasant temperatures all year round. Madeira’s climate is characterised by hot, dry summers and warm, rainy winters. In general, rain is scarce from April to September, and abundant from October to March. Madeira’s mountainous landscape means that there are a series of microclimates on the island. The Funchal area, for example, is sunnier and drier than other regions. Meanwhile, the northern and eastern parts of Madeira are cooler and wetter, due to winds from the north-east. In short, Madeira can be enjoyed all year round, thanks mainly to temperatures that are always pleasant.

Quinta Do Lordes is a hillside hotel located in an isolated outcropping on Maderira. Yet still only 15 mins from the airport (30 to Funchal). “Big and empty...”
We rented a car when we arrived in Madeira and drove to the Quinta for 2 nights stay. A lovely drink of sparkling wine welcomed us when we arrived which was lovely. Free parking and free Wifi and an included buffet breakfast. I was disappointed each morning that the chef making personalized omelets… more

“Wonderful location!”
We were in Quinta do Lorde Resort in July 2018. The location is simply wonderful! The hotel room is very clean and big, but we were a little bit dissapointed with breakfast-we could go there till 10.30 am, but at 10.00 was already half empty...
