e have had ten holidays in South Africa (2002-25) and this is the only hotel or guest house we have been back to three times. ( If you have not been to S.Africa be aware the standards in the hospitality industry there are superb) Waterkloof Mansion Boutique Hotel is indeed a mansion, with each room, bedrooms and downstairs, beautifully furnished in its own unique style. Pat, Ian and all her staff are superb hosts, providing a very full cooked breakfast, or something more simple as you wish. Outside in the large front garden area is a beautiful well kept pool, and parking for several cars Victoria Street on Waterkloof Ridge is a very safe, very upmarket area of Pretoria, where lots of foreign diplomats live. It is 3 minutes to the Country Club and golf course, and less than ten minutes in a car to Brooklyn Mall, which has a nice collection of restaurants in a well designed semi outdoors food court, where you can sit outside or inside. From the Mansion it is about 10 mins to the city centre, and only about three miles to the N1 highway. It is easy 45 min drive on the R21, then N1 from Johannesburg Airport (which has possibly the best and easiest car hire set up in the world, with vehicles at really reasonable prices). We have travelled to over 50 countries and this owner managed hotel stands out for its excellence in every way.
