The warmth, friendliness and generosity of the staff instantly made us feel like part of the family from the moment we arrived. Musa and Raydene were always available to help us with anything we needed. They made us feel like royalty. The meals were some of the best we’ve ever experienced - kudos to our chef Pretty, who surprised us every day with something different and unique. Our servers Hleziphi and Respond were friendly and attentive and a joy to interact with. Our lodge (cabin 8) was the most luxurious place we’ve ever stayed in. Completely secluded with a view of the valley and trees from our back deck. Our only neighbours were the birds and the animals. Our down time was mostly spent on the back desk or our private pool, soaking in the gorgeous views and the tranquility of the environment. We formed an instant bond with our guides Benjamin and Ally, who were very adept at tracking and spotting the animals. They taught us so much about the animals, including their personalities, quirks and behaviours. We enjoyed their company every day, formed lasting bonds with them and had a lot of great laughs sharing jokes and memories. We always enjoyed our picnic breaks, when we would relax, have great conversations, tell jokes and simply enjoy each other’s company. The housekeeping staff were friendly, funny and kept our villa spotless and well stocked with towels, beer, whatever we needed. Our 5-night stay was over before we knew it. We were sad to say goodbye and will cherish the memories and lasting bonds we formed with everyone during our stay. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

I have not left a review for anything in a long time, but AM Lodge absolutley deserves a great review. I read a couple of previous reviews that made me hesitant, but the record needs to be set straight. I stayed Mar 14 - March 16 of 2025 and it could not have been a better experience. I was first greeted at checkin by Raydene, Chris, and Musa. They had a non alcoholic mixed drink ready and waiting for me, a hot towel, and Raydene began explaining the structure of the lodge. They honestly made me feel like roylaty, and I had never felt that before. Raydedne broke everything down and answered every question I had, even the stuff I had texted about before arrival. I later met Brandon, the chef of the lodge. Every meal he prepared was like it was hand made at a luxury 5-star restaurant. I honetly could not have asked for better food, and he even adjusts the menu based on pretty much anything you want. Later in the afternoon, it was time for my game drive. Chris walked me to my private lodge and from that moment on, was immediately available for anything I needed. The lodge itseld was a massive 1,615 sq ft building and I had it all to myself. It is so secluded and private that you are entirely in personal peace whether you are inside or outside of your building. I got a private game drive with driver Benjamin and our tracker Bali. They asked what animals I wanted to see, so I told them rhinos and lions. Within minutes, I was looking at lions and rhinos. Thye definitley knew how to track the right animals. Same thing with each follow on game drive, they took no time at all to find exactly what I wanted to see and taught me so much I had not know about the dynamic of the animal kingdom I was visiting. Back at the lodge, I had zebra and imapala walk up right outside my window as they were foraging and throughout the night, you can listen to the sounds of the animals and nature in their natural habitat. I could go on and on but to wrap it up, I would absolutley stay here again. If there is one thing that could be improved, I'd say the outdoor furniture could use updating. It was looking rather beaten and worn out. Next time, I would upgrade to the superior suite for my own private swimming pool.

We (familiy with three adult kids) spent four wonderful days at the Villa. You are away from everything. Game rides, food (a lot) and drinks are great. We spent one day at Manyaleti to see the elephants an a hippo. We saw a lot of animals at the reserve. they often come close to the villa. We used the spa daily - it is a 20 min drive from the villa. if you want to go you go. Thank you to Bongani and the team.
