“Great hotel, rubbish people!”

This is such a cute hotel, clean and spacious rooms, nice hot showers, lovely pool! It's about 15-20 minutes taxi away from the main town, but you can get it cheap if you do want to go in. The only downside is the staff. They were either not there, uncommunicative, or just plain useless. One meal time we waited an hour for our food and when we asked where it was, the lady hasn't even taken the order to the kitchen. We got our money back, told her to forget the food and got no apology. Lovely place to stay, just don't expect service of any sort!

We stayed in a raft room, which was pleasant. The bedroom was spacious, clean and neat. The air-conditioning worked well. We were expecting many mosquitoes but there was just one in the room which we easily eliminated. The bathroom area is acceptable but could do with some TLC. There was music coming from somewhere until late at night but, with the air-conditioner on, it did not really bother us. Unlike most hotels in Thailand, the beds had soft, comfortable mattresses. Some parts of the pontoon have suffered from the effects of rust and are in need of attention. Dinner was reasonable, although the chicken in one of the dishes was undercooked, and thus left untouched. Breakfast was basic. Bees had taken over the jam, and small flies had taken over the pineapple slices, so we did not touch those. At dinner and breakfast there were few vegetarian options. The Hotel Reception was good. The staff were friendly and spoke fluent English. The restaurant staff were also friendly. The hotel is situated on a large property with lots of greenery. It looks very nice. Taxi charges to/from the River Kwai Bridge range from Baht 150 to Baht 200, depending on your haggling ability. We would stay there again.

Stayed here for 4 nights as part of my Starfish Thailand trip. It's right on the banks of the River Kwai, which you'd expect. The rooms are average. The hotel lobby and some rooms were occupied by thousands of moths one night, just after a storm. Obviously the lights attracted them. Personally, I enjoyed killing hundreds of moths before bed but I know most people wouldn't. The pool is fantastic. You can see the river from the pool which is good. The staff didn't speak much, if any English though which is a downside.
