Really nice hotel! Beautiful scenery! Now…know that it’s almost two hours away from BKK airport. Got here and we were greeted with a refreshing beverage. The staff was very friendly and polite. Got checked in and put in a room very fast. Went to the Zaffiro Restaurant once we got settled where Mo and Micky took such good care of us❤️ so thankful for them. Feels good to know we are in such good hands during our stay!

“Perfect stay & great location”

We cannot recommend this resort high enough. Amazing staff, stunning rooms & overall awesome experience. We will absolutely be back. Was very quiet , but the staff went above & beyond for us, we felt very welcome & comfortable

We had a lovely family stay at La Miniera, and the property itself has so much potential — but a few recurring issues kept it scraping into 4‑star territory. Service: Kow and Mint at reception were fantastic — warm, helpful, and genuinely kind. But beyond the front desk, service seemed to vanish into the ether. The pool bar was supposed to open at 2pm, yet most days it sat empty like a set piece from a post‑apocalyptic resort movie. After a while, we just brought our own speaker and wine out, because waiting for staff was a fruitless endeavour. We even entertained some of the other kids with our kid friendly music. On the one day the bar did open, half the drinks were unavailable — San Miguel Light, Moscow Mule, you name it. Maybe the property was quiet, but it still felt strange for a place marketed as luxury. Dining: Toscana, the Italian restaurant, had a pepper mill but no peppercorns, no sparkling water, and a cocktail list that looked like it had been edited down for budget reasons. Wine only by the bottle, not by the glass. Then came Zophiros — the restaurant we were genuinely excited about because of the glowing reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was… educational. The “beef nachos with a twist” arrived with all the drama of a tax return. No twist. No flair. Just dry beef and a bit of cheese on chips. Even my 5‑year‑old thought it tasted boring” If there was a twist, it was that the dish managed to taste like nothing at all — a culinary magic trick. Perhaps use larb mince or some fried kaffir leaves over the nachos to give it flavour?!? The pork belly skewers looked crispy in the photos but arrived rubbery and under‑rendered, as if they’d been gently warmed by someone thinking about heat rather than applying it. The peanut sauce, however, was lovely — the lone survivor in a battlefield of missed opportunities. Tom Yum was fine but forgettable. The pork chop was genuinely good, but the green curry it came with tasted like someone whispered “curry” over a bowl of coconut cream. Chicken wings were solid. The restaurant is waaay overpriced for what it delivers, and the next day Toscanas were out of margarita pizza at lunchtime, in fact all pizzas were on strike so we ended up giving up on them and just ordering Grab for the rest of our stay. Kids were happy and so was my wallet. Room & Facilities: The villa itself is beautiful — clean, spacious, and perfect for kids. The indoor pool was the highlight of our trip. Housekeeping was excellent and refreshed towels often, which we appreciated since we swam constantly. The only oddity: the complimentary water comes in tiny 300ml cans, and only six per day for four people. It felt a bit stingy for a resort at this level. Kids’ Pool Area: If you use the kids’ pool (separate from the main pools), be extremely careful. The tiled surfaces around the slides are dangerously slippery. We saw multiple kids fall, including our own. Some mesh flooring around the pool would solve this instantly. Also, it took staff 15–20 minutes to turn on the slide water each time, so call ahead unless you enjoy watching your children stare at a dry slide like it’s a broken amusement park ride. Kids Disney playroom was fun for the kids and good for a few hours play. Overall: We loved the privacy, the kindness of the staff we did see, and the cleanliness of the villas. The property has real potential — but inconsistent service, limited F&B, and some safety oversights keep it from being a true 5‑star experience. A good 4 stars (on tippy toes) - with a bit more attention to detail, it could genuinely shine.
