We booked the last available room for a 5 night stay and we paid to use the hotel speedboat option from Ban Phe to the main pier on the island. It is then a rather bumpy ride on a baht bus to the hotel/resort (250 baht if you take the vehicle to yourself) The room was a 3 bed family room, it was large (for a family) with one large and 2 single beds. We were very happy with the room, it was clean and the towels and bed linen were of good qualty and the maid came in every day. The bathroom was a bit dated but perfectly functional with a hot shower and complimentary toiletries replenished daily. The staff at the hotel were an absolute joy with a special shout out to: Kopak (Pao), Tim, ( nothing was too much trouble for these 2 guys ), The smiley stocky bellboy (didn't get his name, sorry), Ning and Fah in the bar and sometimes in the restaurant - ALL Brilliant, Thankyou to you all. The beach that the resort sits on is fabulous, white powder sand and clear blue sea. Plenty and giant clams near the shore for snorkellers. The breakfast was, in my opinion a little dissapointing with limited choice. The restaurant menu is reasonable but based mainly for the Thai palette. I ordered the roast chicken breast with mango chutney sauce and there was no sign of the mango sauce ( I got gravy). that was a dissapointment. There is the usual disconnection on bringing out two meals at the same time. My main course turned up 20 minutes after my wife's. We would definitely go back but would hope that there would be some improvements in the beakfast and reastaurant.

Good points - beautiful beach.staff are very polite and helpful. Hotel is compact so restaurant and beach are a few steps away. Good choice at breakfast. Not so good points - rooms are very tired, really in need of an upgrade, particularly the bathroom. No hot water (one morning no water at all) .… more

Good points - beautiful beach.staff are very polite and helpful. Hotel is compact so restaurant and beach are a few steps away. Good choice at breakfast. Not so good points - rooms are very tired, really in need of an upgrade, particularly the bathroom. No hot water (one morning no water at all) . Music is played nightly, resident singer for part of evening. If you're hoping for a quite evening sat on your balcony reading a book, you will be accompanied by the beat of music thumping out. Mozzies are everywhere so make sure you have spray, cream with you. We booked this close to arrival (had to change our original destination Koh Chang due to border conflict). The hotel was more money and I expected more value for money really. Lots of kids at the time (don't mind children,but draw the line when Russian kids come and take things from your dining table at night and run around the beach screaming during the day) Loved the beach sellers offering delicious fruit, roti, coconut water etc. Recommend taking songthaew to other restaurants, particularly loved Breezes and Reef bar. Breezes didn't have a fire show, but others including Grand View has a fire show nightly which are basically the same, so looses its attraction after a few nights. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but if the quality of room is important, you may be disappointed.
