Easily accessible from Bangkok, this idyllic hideaway is the perfect antidote to the Capital's frenzy. Tucked away down a country lane bordered by coconut palms and banana plantations, Amphawa club resort offers individual chalets in a very pleasant garden. The salt water swimming pool borders on the river where you can relax to admire the kingfishers or observe the passing traffic. The famous floating weekend market is only 2 kilometres away. Accommodation is comfortable but quirky and if you don't like eggs, stock up on provisions for breakfast. Noi, the manageress could not be more helpful. She will take you to the main road where you can find restaurants and a convenience store and she will organise transport for you if necessary.

Hi-light: a picturesque resort in relaxing environment at the bank of a small river near the famous Amphawa floating market, relatively quiet during the weekday. Location: *** easily accessible by private car or taxi by the road, 1 km. off Highway 325, 5 km. from Samut Songkhram town, less than 2 km. along the river to the floating market, the parking area is 120 m. from the resort, just call for the resort golf cart to pick you up there if you don't want to walk along a narrow lane with a group of local dogs. Universal design: * the place is not for wheelchair person with the uneven walkways in all area, many steppings in the room and to the buildings, no disabled car park and also a small space non-disabled toilet and shower area. Cleanness: **** the place, the room, dining room and toilet are all at standard cleanness with a good maintenance. Safety: **** no safeguard, but safety and securities in all area, use a keycard to access the room, good lighting at night. Food: *** included breakfast is simple with boiled rice, fried rice, egg, sausage, vegetables and common fruits, should be much better if local food is also available. Privacy: *** able to maintain guest’s privacy in most of the area, but the river during the weekend is rather noisy with the tourist boats, also loud noise music from neighbor houses. Internet: *** there is free wifi in the room, but the signal is unpredictable. Staffs: **** friendly and helpful staffs. Facilities: **** standard facilities in the room, a large swimming pool is unexpected, try Thai massage 400 baht/hour, the local road in the middle of coconut field outside the resort is good for jogging if you can communicate with many local dogs.

Amphawa Club Resort is located at the bank of the lovely clean canal of Amphawa surrounded by traditional houses of the locals offering you a feeling of home stay and a chance to observe simple lives of people. Just 90km from Bangkok, Amphawa remains a peaceful and charming town being similar to Bangkok in an old time (50 years ago). Sitting by the canal in the morning to enjoy cool wind and fresh air is the thing I really like about this resort since the resort itself has not been well managed - bungalows aren't clean (bed, pillows, carpets are dirty), pests in the room, garden is left overgrown and staffs are not really helpful. I do hope the resort to improve way they maintain and manage resort so that it would be the best boutique resort in Amphawa. I suspect an increasing in a number of long-tail boats taking tourists for a canal tour. They have created undesirable loud noise, pollution and tides. This is not the resort mistake but it reduces our enjoyment when staying here.
