Just got back from a lovely stay at the Leonardo hotel. The location was incredible, close to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. We had a walk to Benalmadina which took about 40 minutes which was lovely! We also booked a taxi to malaga and we booked a quad bike experience which wasn't far in a uber to get to. The food we couldn't fault- had a little something for everyone and we enjoyed each meal. The rooms are in need of an update but that didn't bother us. Staff seemed friendly, plenty of lounges at all times. I do feel there could be more drinks for the all inclusive but that wasn't a problem really. Entertainment is on each night but nothing exciting so I do recommend going out in the area to explore. The pools are lovely but the downstairs one is freezing so highly recommend going on the top floor. There was a few minor problems hence the 4 star rating instead of 5. Upon arrival it took 40 minutes to check in, nothing was ready for us and we was so exhausted we just wanted to relax. The sky bar wasn't open unfortunately and that was the main reason for booking the hotel but suppose its because it's too early into the season i'm not too sure. I feel for a 4 star hotel we could of had a kettle in the rooms but hopefully once its refurbished they will add that in as would be nice to wake up and have a hot drink. My final complaint was when we went to lay on the lounges on the rooftop terrace as it came out really sunny and there was a wedding taking place so all lounges were put away- i politely asked if we could have a lounge to lay on away from the wedding set up and they said no.. as paying for a hotel with the rooftop terrace we are surely entitled to use it? Would happily return if some of these above change with the new ownership

Vast hotel with large areas of poorly used space. Would benefit from a major refurbishment in many areas. The restaurant is best described as chaotic, with food stations scattered throughout the room, making meal choices unnecessarily problematic. The rooftop pool is nice, though restricted to between 11 am and 6 pm, meaning those of us who like early morning swims can not use this facility. Situated very close to Torremolinos centre and the train station, it is also a long way from the beach area, so guests should choose their preferences before booking. I stayed for 3 nights, room only and was disappointed you could not buy lunch or evening meal at the hotel, only breakfast.

“New ownership but in need of an update!”

The Gran Cervantes has changed ownership and it is now a Leonardo Hotel. The livery is different but the hotel facilities and services are the same. I hope the new owners can update the hotel a bit. The staff is fantastic.special thanks to Munia for all yourher help!

“Smelly drains”

This is my second visit here and I don’t think I’ll be back, cleaners knocking at the door before you’re even out of bed, tried coming to turn the room over 2 hours before check out. This is my second visit here and I don’t think I’ll be back, cleaners knocking at the door before you’re even out of bed, tried coming to turn the room over 2 hours before check out. Food is mediocre and quite bland. Rooms are okay but not cleaned to a high standard, room keys stopped working multiple times and when on the 7th floor is quite frustrating having to queue for lifts queue at reception just to be able to access the room. The smell from the bathroom drains of an evening turned my stomach. Very noisy at night with doors banging and loud drunks returning to their rooms. Also no air-con although clear advertised as all rooms having it.
