We have stayed at the Gloria Golf Resort on many occasions and can say this is a wonderful hotel. The staff are amazing, helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. We have stayed as a family and with friends on a competition golf week. It always feels like home when we arrive. Looking forward already to our visit in early November. Excellent rooms, well looked after and clean Great place to stay for either a family or golf holiday.

“Golf trip”

Hotel takes a little getting used to, but the golf courses especially are fantastic. The service at the golf course is the only negative, it’s a mile off the quality at the Titanic. Hotel takes a little getting used to, but the golf courses especially are fantastic. The service at the golf course is the only negative, it’s a mile off the quality at the Titanic. The food is always cold and the service slow. The rest of the hotel is ok, the spa doesn’t open til 9 which is a little late but is good, whilst the food in the upstairs bars and the pool bar especially is good.

“Golf break”

Wonderful stay. Great service. If I had to be picky, the new sports bar needs a good satellite link, as it buffered on too many occasions. Food and drink, amazing. The rooms have got smaller, but I’m just in there to sleep.

We have visited Gloria Golf Resort at least once per year, sometimes multiple times per year, over the past six years. Unfortunately, the overall experience has steadily declined, not because of the staff, but because of management decisions that consistently reduce value for returning guests while increasing opportunities to charge extra. You market the resort as “Ultra All Inclusive,” yet every year less is actually included. Calling it “Ultra” has become difficult to understand. Initially, all restaurants were included. Then guests were limited to one visit per restaurant per week. After that, additional charges were introduced. This year, guests staying at Gloria Golf Resort are no longer even allowed to have a drink at the heated pool closest to the Family Suites unless they pay extra. I understand the operational intention of distributing guests between pools, but charging “Ultra All Inclusive” guests for basic beverages at a nearby pool is simply absurd. The overall impression is increasingly clear: the guest is no longer the priority. The priority appears to be identifying additional opportunities to charge guests for services that were previously included or should reasonably be part of the experience. Another example is the atelier area for children. On paper it looks excellent, but in reality nearly every activity comes with excessive extra charges. The pricing is difficult to justify and, in some cases, higher than comparable activities in Zurich. For a family resort positioning itself at the premium end of the market, this leaves a very poor impression. What is particularly disappointing is the complete lack of flexibility or customer-oriented thinking when minor issues arise. Even something as simple as charging a small grooming device becomes unnecessarily complicated because the hotel’s response is focused on selling additional services rather than helping the guest with a simple solution. Equally surprising is the apparent absence of any meaningful recognition system for returning guests. After six years of repeated visits, it seems the hotel has no awareness whether someone is a loyal returning guest or a first-time visitor. Ironically, the bar and service staff often remember us personally, while reception and management systems apparently do not. To be clear: this criticism is not directed at the normal employees. The service staff are generally friendly and professional. The issue is clearly management strategy and philosophy. As passionate golfers who regularly play 36 holes per day, Turkey and Belek in particular should theoretically be the ideal destination for us. However, the increasing focus on monetising every detail of the guest experience has become exhausting and deeply disappointing. The success of Belek seems to have created a level of arrogance within management circles, where maximising short-term revenue appears more important than building long-term guest loyalty. This year’s experience disappointed us to the point that we are now seriously reconsidering whether we want to spend our golf holidays in Turkey at all in the future.
