It is the capital od the region of Lagos, at the northern end of the Reloncaví Sound in the Llanquihue Province. Puerto Montt was founded in 1853 by Vicente Perez Rosales. One year before the german immigrants had arrived to the city with Valdivia and Osorno. From the bay of Puerto Montt you can view the Corcovado and the volcanoes of Michinmahuida. The bussiness section and the central services of the city are all around the the Plaza Manuel Irrazabal with a lovely view to the sea, and the cathedral located north of the plaza.
Puerto Aguirre is a remote fishing village on Huichas island in the Chonos archipelago. Its inhabitants have all the basic equipment of a city, but live in an atmosphere of peace and quiet provided by their environment.
Quitralco means "fire waters" in Mapuche, and is a fjord that lies on an ancient glacier bed, with high snow-capped mountains and an impenetrable and unique forest that grows next to a calm and transparent sea, in the middle of a temperature microclimate.

In the Laguna San Rafael National Park, Nature remains impervious to Motor Vessel Skorpios II as she sails silently on, and offers a spectacular landscape for all to see while sailing towards the Glacier itself on Hercules icebreakers; the glacier is 2,000 metres wide and its towers rise to a height of 70 metres, offering an unsurpassed spectacle.
The Motor Vessel Skorpios II Chonos Route covers a total of 800 miles while she threads her way through channels and fjords where nature is still practically free from human habitation, taking you to the San Rafael Glacier in the Northern Ice Field, which is absolutely magical, with its different sized and shaped ice flowers: it is also one of the most active glaciers in Patagonia in terms of icefall and colouring.
