Prinsengracht is one of the better canal streets that is conveniently located for the walkers to cover the distances. Place is a bit on a small side, but fully functional and clean. The only major BUT i had was the AC unit was only installed in the Liv Room and not the Bedroom. Thankfully, the temps were dipping into the 50's so we would open the windows in the bedroom. Our bathroom had a very dim light. The owner/manager supplied a complimentary bottle of wine and Nescaffe capsules which was a nice touch. Oh, and the matress was awesome.

“Great location and comfortable stay”

We (2 adults and 2 children aged 9 and 7) stayed in the Mandarin apartment in August 2019. The location was fabulous and the size of the apartment was great. Prior to arriving we contacted the owner to see if we could check in slightly later as our flight didn't arrive until late and this was accommodated with no fuss. On arrival we were greeted over the intercom at the front door and the owner then called the apartment once we were in to welcome us. The manager/assistant who lives on the boat in front of the house then came to check us in in person. All went very smoothly. The apartment was clean and it was a nice touch having some complimentary drinks provided in the fridge. The bed in the bedroom was very comfortable - the sofa bed slightly less so, but then, it is just a sofa bed so you can't expect too much. A number of reviews have commented that the apartments are not clean - ours was very clean. No issues there. There was a slight mix up with payment, which resulted in us paying twice but this was resolved very quickly. The only real downside was that the windows at the front of the apartment had been locked (it was explained that people had previously left them open and with it being a ground floor apartment this meant it was open for thieves to help themselves) and the air conditioning unit didn't work very well so the front of the apartment was very hot. However, overall we really enjoyed our stay at Prinsenhuis and, having scoured the internet for other centrally located places to stay, would say that this was very reasonably priced (in a city where accommodation prices are very high).
