“Good basic accommodations ”

I struggled between 3 and 4 stars.. Location is ok. A bit on one end of the main area. Room. We had a non-basment back room. Not a great view but fine. Everything very basic. Decent size room. Very basic bedding with very flat pillows. Annoying signs everywhere telling you to turn off lights, turn water off when brushing teeth etc. Breakfast was basic Argentinian fare. Nothing special but fine. I didn't realize that you could make eggs in microwave until the last day. Breakfast staff don't speak English. English speaking staff came on at 8am Check in ok with our minimal Spanish. There's an honor system fridge in breakfast area with water, beer for purchase. Lounge area is beautiful with huge windows

“Nice place”

Great views over the bay, nice decor in communal spaces, comfortable bed, friendly staff (Spanish speaking only so if you don’t know the basics maybe not the place for you). In all a lovely place, a 10 min walk from the centre and a little uphill (hence the great views). WiFi was good and reliable.… more

Great views over the bay, nice decor in communal spaces, comfortable bed, friendly staff (Spanish speaking only so if you don’t know the basics maybe not the place for you). In all a lovely place, a 10 min walk from the centre and a little uphill (hence the great views). WiFi was good and reliable. Had a fridge downstairs with water and beers which operated on an “honesty bar” system which you declared and paid on departure. We booked the top room with harbour views but couldn’t open the centre window blind as it was fixed shut which was a shame. The shower was not fantastic, a little noisy as hot water comes through, not too much pressure and the drainage was slow. Breakfast was cereal and cake/pastries, as is common in Argentina, ok but not great.

“Small, quiet and scenic”

Foike is a bit out of town- up on the hill it's about a 10 min walk to town....going down is Ok, but coming home can be challenging on icy cold, windy days. Staff were friendly and very lovely. Foike is a bit out of town- up on the hill it's about a 10 min walk to town....going down is Ok, but coming home can be challenging on icy cold, windy days. Staff were friendly and very lovely. Only really saw them at breakfast and check in time. It's a very small palce, more a B&B than hotel. Room was clean and quite small. Bathrooms a bit dated, but they work and have great hot water. Lots of powerpoints to charge gadgets. Oh and there's a lift to transport your bags! Walls are very thin- could hear everything from neighbouring rooms... we had a child in room next door who skyed his mum a lot and we could hear it all. Other than that, sleep quality is good and rooms quiet at night. Bed was comfy. Best nights sleep I've had all trip. Doona is awesome....so warm! There are spare pillows and blankets in cupboard too. As a side note- the heater in bathroom is great to dry wet socks/undies....even though they don't want it used that way. Breakfast is basic- toast, cereal, juice, coffee.... if hungry there are lots of bakeries in town. There's a nice lounge area too where you can sit and enjoy the view. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Ushuaia is not a cheap place to find a place for a night or two's stay - this is one of the cheaper options, as would consider the price affordable, with the expected downside that the location was a bit out of the way (around 10-15min walk to the town centre). Ushuaia is not a cheap place to find a place for a night or two's stay - this is one of the cheaper options, as would consider the price affordable, with the expected downside that the location was a bit out of the way (around 10-15min walk to the town centre). Staff are friendly though probably better if you could speak Spanish. Free airport transfer from airport to hotel was much appreciated. We had one of the basement rooms (the cheaper option), which seem of much different quality than the upstairs rooms which look very nice from the photos. Our room did not have any wall sockets - the only socket was in the toilet by the sink! We had to take everything upstairs to charge, since it was two of us with various phones, cameras, etc. Room itself was basic, but the bed was comfy. Breakfast is simple but the breakfast room / check-in area is filled with windows which is very nice during the day. Overall, an ok place to stay for a night or two, but if staying in the basement rooms would probably not want to stay for much longer.
