We bought a package via a 3rd party web site and stayed 2 nights. Check in was smooth and professional. The staff were very good at their jobs and very friendly and helpful. Our room was on the second floor with a king size bed. We had a small balcony with 2 chairs and small table. Our room was quite spacious with plenty of room to move. Bathroom was clean and spacious. Separate bath and shower. Good size TV, small fridge with a well stocked mini bar.Plenty of storage space for your bags and clothing. Good lighting which is lacking in many hotels. We were not disturbed once by any noise from other guests or staff. It really is a huge property with a golf course 2 huge pools, (one is adults only), tennis courts, putting greens, gym, spa etc. And a helipad if you want a ride. We dined in the Lovedale bar and grill a few times and the food was good. A breakfast buffet was included and it too was good with a good selection of food. We'd not hesitate to stay again.

“Exceptional customer service but cold pools”

We had a wonderful holiday here, and every staff member we encountered went out of their way to offer amazing service and go above and beyond. It was exceptional service. One example is that my son cut his foot and went to reception around 9pm and they administered first aid. The villa for 6 people was clean and spacious and had a kitchen but no oven, although the fridge was quite small for feeding 5 teenage boys! I called to ask for the rubbish to be taken out and the tea towels changed and they came within 30 mins and took care of it. They also gave us all fresh bath towels upon request. The buffet breakfast no longer has the fresh juice machine, but it was still plentiful with variety. It was 40 degrees all 3 days we were there, so we played pickleball from 8-9pm, which was free and great fun. The 5 boys played golf every day and because they were 15, they couldn’t hire a buggy, but they gave them free use of the golf push carts which was very kind. The concierge had board games that we borrowed. He also helped me find the boys on the golf course in the 43 degree heat and drove me to them in a buggy, so that I could take them iced water. My main issue was with the pools. My summer holidays are typically focussed around the swimming pool of any hotel I book. 1. The pools were quite cold, even in 40+ degree heat. At one point I counted 14 kids under the age of 5 in the spa, and they were treating it like a pool, jumping in and throwing things, because the pool was just too cold, so everyone crammed into the spa being splashed in the face. Not very relaxing. 2. The pools close at 8pm in summer!!!! Ridiculous!!! Right when you’re finally not going to be burnt to a crisp when you swim, and when the screaming kids have moved out, they close the pools and let the ducks swim in them! The adults pool was even colder than the main pool! I would hesitate to go again, because whilst we had a wonderful time, the cold pools put me off.

We come here every year for Xmas. This year there seems to be a minimalist feel to the hotel. No where near the usual decorations. Very low key atmosphere. Overall it’s still a great place. We come here every year for Xmas. This year there seems to be a minimalist feel to the hotel. No where near the usual decorations. Very low key atmosphere. Overall it’s still a great place. Great staff - Brett the concierge, Sophie the Manager, all the staff at breakfast. Pool room fantastic . However, the breakfast buffet is missing those festive touches we have come to expect - no cherries, no fruit mince pies, no table decorations, no more handwritten reviews. QR code and tagging only. :(. Other items missing - no pineapple juice, no peaches, no passionfruit, no strawberries, no bananas. No where near as lush as in the past. Has turned into a buffet the same as any hotel. EVT (or Jerry S) cost cutting? But still charging the same price! Disappointed #Mushrooms shrivelled and dry :( *Restaurant Manager not particularly helpful when I said I didn’t want to use the QR code. Handed me a tiny piece of paper but no pen.

We enjoyed a little taste of luxury on this trip to the Hunter Valley. The Resort is conveniently located, being only a short drive to the Hunter Valley Gardens and many different cellar doors. The rooms, while looking a little tired and in need of minor refurbishment, were comfortable, clean and quiet. Breakfast (included in our tariff) was outstanding. The buffet breakfast included eggs cooked to your requirements (with extras like chilli jam and avocado), hot foods (a choice eight hot dishes), cereals, juices, bread and pastries and - a hit with the youngsters - a fresh pancake station with the biggest jar of Nutella I've ever seen! We also ate at the in-house bar and grill (Lovedale Bar and Grill) which was fine for both snacks and lunches and also for dinner. Nothing fancy - typical pub food, but quite well executed. The Bar and Grill adjoin the outdoor pool and water park area, so there is access to outdoor seating on sunny days. It did get very crowded and noisy later in the evening, but there was a convention being held at the hotel. The hotel also boasts an adults-only pool and a day spa. Reception staff were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. In summary, a very pleasant stay in a beautiful part of NSW.
