Lake View Hotel Motel was highly recommended by a few of my friends and told me that their rump steak is to die for and their prices are most suitably for the average people. Well… I had to go, just to see for myself and yes indeed, Lake View Hotel Motel offers $16 Pub Classics and $6 House Beer / Wine… a good selection to choose from – all day, everyday! You can’t beat that, that’s for sure. Walk-ins are welcomed, we simply walked in, found ourselves a table and ordered and paid for our meals at the bar – just remember the table number, as it is table service - both cash and cards are accepted. Of course, I ordered ‘250g Grainge Rump’ (with chips, salad and a choice of sauce), but I paid a little extra and for ‘Surf & Turf’ (creamy garlic prawns). My wife had ‘250g Grainge Rump’ as well with mushroom gravy, without the extra – she wanted to see what the hype was all about and if it’s true. Well… I kid you not, the rump was cooked perfectly, juicy, unreal – the best rump steak EVER! It melted in my mouth and the prawns added on top was generous, deliciously creamy and not overcooked – I just don’t understand why chefs tend to leave the tails on the prawns? The salad was dressed well, flavoursome and crisp and your chips are your frozen standard chips but cooked perfectly and not greasy. My wife had an identical review, regarding the rump – minus the prawns but added that she loved the charred taste of her rump the best and the mushroom gravy was delicious and complimented the rump steak perfectly. Now I truly understand the hype and pressure from my friends to give this place a go and truly appreciate them for the heads up. Peak happiness = this rump steak… I was giggling all the way home and definitely will go back there countless times – that’s a promise, not far from where we live. I have already told my family and friends about Lakeview’s bistro and highly recommended their rump steak. The bistro can be a bit loud but it’s expected. We didn’t have to wait long for our meals, their staff were super friendly and efficient. And definitely a great place for families with young children, they have a play centre out the back, where you can dine outdoors as well, while their children can self-entertain once they have finished with their meals or simply bored.
